Hi,

Realistically I won't be getting my car back on the road this year. After the nightmare I've had getting my car painted I want to give the lovely paint some protection. My car is on my front drive so it gets various bits of crap off the roof of my house and the obvious bird crap. What should I be looking at, polishing or waxing and what should I use for some solid protection?

Cheers

Vijay

you can cling cover it or something i think, a thin layer of clear plastic film over say the front bumper and hood.

Hello bud,

I mean protecting the whole car ;)

Vijay, if its not going to move for a while, look at getting a cover, since i got my zed, i have polished it nearly every month, and washed every two weeks, its got to the point that the polish is super and no matter what dirt it gets on it, it just washes away.

Each time i polish it gets 2 x coats of auto glym high resin and a top coat of mguires extra deep gloss polish.

Water and bird poo slips off..........

mate use meguiars deep cystal polish then wax it with meguiars nxt tech wax 2.0 leaves a smooth as silk finish plus wax will protect your paint work...cover good idea also

One of the best affordable waxes on the market is Collonite 476. Does a fantastic job.

My car is still beading like this. Sure, I leave mine under cover and it never sits outside in the rain, but it's been washed about 50 times since I applied it and it has rave reviews over on Detailingworld giving a very long lasting protection.

Cheers guys. Went with Si's recomendation in the end after reading up on it on the net. Looks like very good stuff that's easy to apply and lasts

Vijay

steer away from a car cover mate as they can do more damge than good esp on windy day Scott swears by tech wax but then his car lives in its fully carpeted garage and doesnt understand the concept of rain lol ps remove bird do do asap as the lime can eat into paintwork in next to no time even through wax .

Hello bud,

I took on board what Scott said about car covers and new paint so that's just not an option ;) I will keep on top of protecting the job you've done, gets looks on my drive on a daily basis and I want it to look as good next year when I get it back on the road

best way to protect your car if storing it and not using it is. to have a full outside valet so thay use all the silicon products on all trim ect and ether keep her indoors if not then cover her with something so as to keep of the sun.oh and leave ingear handbrake of
