Just asked for an update from Thor. going to give me a call back with more details but.. they did say my new wheels are on and they stick out the rear arches allot.

Ive not seen it so not sure how bad it is, changing the wheels isnt really a option as they were very expensive and took 6 months to arrive as it is.

Sticking out the arches will look silly and possibly illegal.

So what are my options?

I know Do-Luck make stick on arch extensions but who else make them and different options availible. i cant spent too much money on this e.g. full wide arse kit at the mo as there are far more important things to spent it on.

What is envolved in fitting the Zcentre wide arch kit?

they are £530 + vat with the fuel cap not as much as i expected. I wouldnt tackle this myself but if i was to get a body shop to do it just wonder how much i would be looking at and how long it would take them.

Would they cut the rear metal arch out behind or does it go over the top?

Hey mate why not get your arches rolled and flared? would only be a couple of hundred pounds

thats a good idea!

dan.:D

Not sure you can see it properly from this pic, but if you can get awat with just flaring the arches a bit it looks a lot better than a plastic wide arch kit IMO.

Yeah, if you fettle the arches, you can get silly offsets on there. Not something I'd ever do, but it does look cool.

as its a wider offset i guess this isnt a particuly bad thing?

Possible improve the handling?

I'm guessing tht a wider offset is fine so long as the camber etc is adjusted properly. I have 9 inch front and back with the ksports bells and they stick out both front and back but the kyb eibach set up give it enough height not to be a problem on corners. Archenemy seem to be the people to use.

By the way mine sticks to the floor like glue with the wider track but not so good in the wet. Racelogic on in the wet!

Hi, just a point you may want to consider re legal or not with wheels sticking out past the wheel arch. From my days as a copper I think that may still be a fixed penalty if you get done. I believe it is covered by the following.

The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986: Road Traffic (Statutory instruments: 1986)

If any member would like me to do more research on this or other legal bits I don,t mind. But I am not a lawyer chaps. lol.

Ooops may have posted this wrong first time I am sorry

also need to consider how far they stick out from arches, archenemy will not guarantee that they wont damage paint if they have to flair arches by a considerable amount

What is the width and offset of your new wheels ? That will tell us how far it sticks out

I was going to ask the same

check out the april car of the month competition.

A member (cant remember his name, sorry) has flared rear arches

I have no idea what they are.

How would i find that out?

Its not on my invoice as i got a call while they were being made and they asked then.

That info would have to have been supplied to the supplier when you ordered them mate ? otherwise you end up with wheels that don't fit.

Can you remember what you asked for when you bought them ? the offset though is often stamped on the inside back rim and the width should be on there as well.

What size tyres did you buy ?

Sounds like this could be very expensive!

Fitting a wide arch kit isn't cheap if that's what you end up needing.
