hi guys, im getting a lot of wobbling on my steering wheel under braking and when driving, geting the tracking sorted tomorrow but just incase that doesnt solve anything what else should i check? frount and rear disks arent warped the wheels have been balanced properly and ive replaced the tension rod bushes, any help on this would be great coz its drivin me mad.....er! ;)

i think if your wheels are balanced and the disks are fine then theres nothing that a bit of track ajustment wont cure, especially if the tension rod bushes have been changed

in theroy but knowing my luck lol thanks dude!

i think if the calipers are sticking this can cause bad judder too when braking.... overhauling them isnt such a bad idea if its never been done....there are kits on sale somewhere

cheers

if the calipers are seizing then yes, sort that straight away as that will cause vibration and warp your discs

5mm spacers is just about enough thickness to cover the centre hub ring which makes it useless unless the spacers have hubcentric rings on them for the wheels to rest on? if they dont then this will give wheel wobble as the studs are taking up all the load.

Hi mate I was getting a really pronounced pulling to the left on braking. Turned out to be my lower suspension items were not torqued up properly!

Il try but no promises got a few more things to sort out on it before it's show worthy

Do you have spacers fitted to the wheels?

im about to but the same wheels as yours on my car with non hub-centric spacers, am i likely to have bad wheel judder?

Told ya ;)

Depends how thick they are, If the spacers are thick enough to cover the hub ring so the wheels dont catch on it anymore then yes they will wobble, JFYI my wheels required spigot rings to match the stock hub size, anyway You sure you even need spacers? Whats the offset?

et42 - 9.5 j at the back and 8.5 front there identical to yours the spacers are about 15 mm front ant 10 mm back, there don't appear to be any spigot rings with them? are they gonna be a ball ache?

Maybe the bore is different but you need to check what they are to determine what spigot size you need. Maybe they are striaght fit you never know.

Think my fronts are et32 and i have a 20mm spacer on the front but thats coz i needed to clear my brake calipers as i have larger disks, cant remember the rears now!!!

Them spacers are going to be a ball ache if they are not hubcentric with the centre ring! youl also find that the fronts 15mm spacers wont even go on coz there wont be enough thread to even start on :(

What your going to need is either a 20mm bolt on hubcentral spacer for them fronts or a 15mm hubctric ring spacer with longer studs and the rears i Duno :(

mine are both et32 and the rears didnt need anything to fit apart from the spigot rings.

Hey buddy with 42's I would go for a 15mm spacer at the back with 265's or 255's as that will fill the arches nicely without any clearance issues. 8.5 42 front I would go with a 225 or 235 and as Jimmy says a 15 mm spacer. Go for hubcentric spacers with lips or you will get serious whell shake and if your hubs and wheels are different sizes then spigot rings as well.

Hope I'm not teaching you to suck eggs.

Cheers bud

any old spigots do?

They have to be the correct size. Cant remeber from the top of my head, hmmm do a search for the standard bore size and then find out what size the wheel bore is.

great!:headvswal

edit (im on the trail of some spigot rings will get back to me tomorrow. h&r dont cover the 300zx as far as i can tell? they do the maxima but no spacers?)

Try here mate

For spigots I would just go round to an alloy wheel shop and get them to sort it out for you
