GreetingZ all!

First of all my apologies to all for the delay in posting the details - have had a lot going on lately.

I visited the Boat Inn (Solihull) this afternoon and the manager remembered us from our November meet - excellent start so far. I enquired about two possible dates but only Saturday March 30th is still available. The manager was very keen to book us because he had a lot of good comments about our lovely Zeds from visitors! We will also be able to command their entire rear carpark which should easily house 40-50 cars. As for food, I have asked them to present me a buffet menu in the region of £8.50 - £10.00 per head. I will post the menu when I get it tomorrow morning. Weather permitting we could even take up residence in the back garden and view our beloved cars whilst we eat smile.gif

So, in summary:

Date: 30 March 2002

Location: The Boat Inn, Solihull, Midlands

Time: 12 o'clock onwards

Menu: Warm lunch buffet

Cost: Between £8.50 - £10.00 (payable at entry to the carpark - will confirm exact cost later)

Extra cost: drinks

Hope this is sufficient info for the time being. I have reserved the space for 30-40 people so lets see if we can establish a record attendance wink.gif

Cheers,

Danny

I'm there,low & white

Yes, that's ok for me too. Do you need an idea of numbers yet, or just how many Zeds are going to be there?

Hey Ajay!

Not sure about the number of Zeds that'll show up but seeing as how 'easy' it was to get ten Zeds together just before Christmas, I'm hoping to set a new record and get perhaps 20-30 of the beasts together - carpark can easily accomodate us.

Off to get the final price for the buffet now smile.gif

Cheers!

Danny

Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce... (sorry no sound!) LOL

Dan300,

Take a look at the RaceLogic web site - they have the hardware and software that permits you to royally screw-up all the good work done by Nissan, and it will cost around £1100 (from memory). The tricky part is reverse engineering the ECU maps of course, because funnily enough you won't get that information. I'd recommend going to someone who has already done it, like Hitec (Might be Aus only), Pete at SE Nissan or JWT. It'll be a whole lot cheaper in the long run.

  • 2 weeks later...

while we are in this area, does anyone know when Drayton Manor Park opens ?

i know it is just down the road in Fazeley, as my dad used to live there.

would they dedicate part of their car park to us ?

its somewhere a bit more interesting than a pub, especially if some of us are accompanied by partners and children.....

is it worth a call ?

i will have to check me funds first !but it shouldn't be a problem biggrin.gif

Craig - I just checked Drayton's website and they are open as of March 23rd. However ... it will cost us a packet to gain entry. But I will ring them in the morning and find out if we can do some kind of deal (part of their car park & entry).

Having said that I must tell you that the pub deal has been sorted (carpark facilities and meals) for some time now and has met with everyones approval so far. I'd be a bit reluctant to change the venue at this point in time. But, if people are bringing children etc perhaps I can organise some form of entertainment for them (cost permitting).

Keep you posted mate!

Danny

yeah, sorry Danny, didn't mean to put a spanner into the works biggrin.gif

i've got no problem going to the pub, especially as it's all organised already, the other place just occured to me when i was looking at the map....

does the pub have beer garden or anything like that ? its just that, from experience, kids and pubs, or kids and car parks, dont always mix very well....

Hi Craig/guys,

Right, just got off the phone with the events office at Drayton Manor Park and it doesn't look good. First problem is that they already have three events going on that afternoon. Second, there is no way that they are willing to secure us a part of their carpark. Furthermore, that particular Saturday is gearing up to be one of their busiest as it is the Easter weekend (and only their second weekend that they're open). So, I'm afraid there's not much I can do to ensure we'll have a good time there. Very sorry about that.

Anyway, the Boat Inn at Solihull does have a beer garden, complete with picknick benches and grass. I've already secured that part of the pup just in case the weather is good - we can then sit outside, have our meals and watch our beloved cars gleaming in the adjacent carpark! If it pisses down with rain then we've got a large chunk of their interior space. Now, as far as kids are concerned, I'm not sure how many of you are intending to bring the little ones but if there is a sufficient number then perhaps we can pitch in together and arrange some entertainment for them (for example a bouncy castle or similar although the thought of food and bouncing kids don't quite fit together). If this is the case then I'd have to clear it with the manager of the pub first and I'd have to insist people pay ahead of the meet so that I'm not left holding the bill at the end of it all. If that sounds appealing to you guys then please let me know ASAP so that I can make the necessary arrangements.

Take it easy and be safe!

Danny
