Hi Guys

 

I appear to be dripping a liquid from the front near side just infront of the wheel arch. It appears to be clear and doesn't smell. :cry:

 

I haven't used the aircon and the radiator water level stays contant.

 

I've had the front brakes done - new discs n pads, but the liquid is not around the wheel and brakes are fine.

 

Any ideas???

 

I can post photos is someone tells me how to.

my expansion bottle leeks if u fill it into the neck and drips into the same place. worth a check. do u use the A/C often. as with my other cars if it was in use before parking water can drip off the pipes due tro how cold they get. Condensation i think. not sure if any pipe is in that area tho.

I never go anywhere near the expansion bottle, I just check the water level in the rad. It went for an MOT recently, so myabe the add in some water.

 

What is the expansion bottle for anyway?

The expansion is located directly in front of the wheel.

Remove front passenger wheel, then the plastic wheel arch liner, usually 2 10mm nuts and some screws which are attached to bumper.

The bottle is there, half way up , there is a neck for the filler, if the water level is over this and the rad is full, on full heat it will leak.

Drain when cool to the max level for the expansion bottle, might need to bleed the rad a bit, and top up.
