Hi there, just drove my car back from work and it was going fine, parked up for about 2 hours and went to start it an dit was completely dead.

Dash lights come on as normal but when i turn the key there is nothing!! The only noise was a on and off buzzing noise that appeared to be coming from the valvel for the boost controller. I have disconnecterd the power to that and gthe buzzing has gone but there is still nothing. There isnt even that ticking noise that you associat ewith a flat battery. I have had my jump starting pack on there and that made no difference so im fairly confident we can rule out a flat battery.

The bugger of it is that its parked in the way of my other car and someone elses!!!

One thing though, when i turn the key a light comes on. Its the third from the left, looks like a box with a couple of wavy lines. Unsurprisingly it doesnt appear to be in the owners manual... ggrrrrrrrrrrr!!

thanks

The wavy lines light is cat overheat...

I had this one where it just died for no reason, No real explanation but what did cure it was simply plugging a laptop into it on a conzult cable, laptop was still switched of at the time yet it somehow cured it. So the only think i could put it down to was some sort of standing static charge sat over the car/Ecu/imobiliser god knows but it fixed it and never did it again!

Ok the buzzing / clicking from the boost valve is normal, the cat overheat light is normal and does not go out until the engine starts.

Right back to the non start, some simple questions first, I take it from you post there is no starter action, if so is your car an auto and not fully in park? if it is a manual get some one to bump start you and get the car home for easier diagnosis of the issue.

Anymore info would help so does it have an alarm/ immobilser ? are they fully disarmed?
