Hi all

Bit of a long read, but hopefully give you an insight to our journey.

After having returned from the zrun to Amsterdam, i thought i would write a short review for those interested in taking part next year.

Meeting at Dover with anticipation of everyone arriving, i couldnt wait to get the journey started. We had mini meet while waiting for Wozzer, zogg and Jimmytt at a garage just down the road from the ferry terminal.

We all left the garage to head for the ferry and it was nice to see a convoy of zeds. Unfortunately, while waiting in the queue for tickets, Ianl's car started smoking. It looked pretty bad at first, but turned out to be a water hose or something, thank god it wasnt on fire. A decision had to be made quickly, whether Ian was going to risk getting on the ferry and trying to sort it the other side or just call it a day. He made the sensible decision to get the car transported home, we all felt for him, must have been gutted.

Finally on the ferry and ready ourselves for the journey ahead, bear in mind not many of us had much sleep the night before, if any lol.

Nice chat and get to know session on the ferry with Wozzer giving us our Tshirts and stickers and a talk about the journey and what to expect.

Most of us hadnt realised that Wozzer spent many years out in Holland, working and living there, so not only knew the sights etc, but spoke Dutch fluently, which was a big plus for us.:)

The roads were perfect for a long drive, fairly straight and i couldn't believe how flat the terrain was on the whole journey, great for fuel consumption.

The guys on the trip where a pleasure to be with. From all walks of life and interests, brought together by one love, driving the zed.

Its always great to have characters on a road trip and believe me we had plenty.

Wozzer:bow::bow:

Organised a great trip to remember, he knew where to take us for the best possible experience and not such, the nutter you would expect him to be:rofl: He really looked after us and had some great stories to boot.

The boys from Wales, Funkybugaloo (Mike) and his son jonesy boi ( Alex) were a hoot, funny and friendly and jonesy boi was instrumental in taking a load of pics and videos, hanging out the car window most of the time, he got some great shots and with his wit, along with his dad made us laugh.

Zogg( Pete) What a lovely guy, always smiling and up for a laugh, he and Wozzer were the lead car for the trip and a great job they did too.

Jimmytt and his mates. Now after reading alot of posts from Jimmy over the past year i expected him to be a right nutter and i was looking forward to meeting him. All round nice guy and his car is looking seriously sexy. His mates went along for the Amsterdam experience and i think they had a great time, although so steamed most of the time they probably didnt remember much:rofl:

Madmarco and Kanan: Poor marco got side swiped by a british lorry driver on the motorway heading towards our destination, but although there was a bit of damage to his car, he didnt let it get in the way of his fun.

Marco was the last car in the convoy and held off the traffic well for us when we needed to overtake, great job Marco. Kanan, his son, had fun and joined in with the festivities and brought some intelligence to the madness.

I would personally like to say a big big thanks to marco for bailing me out of the brown stuff, a cock up with my bank left me with no money during the first day and he got me through the weekend like a real star, i will never forget the kindness shown by all, which makes being a member of a great community worth its weight in gold.

Tulip(Trish) and her sister bulb(Rita) were already in Amsterdam on business, but stayed on to meet up with us for a couple of days, nice to have the ladies along, had some great chats again:) They even managed a bit of a convoy with us, when we dropped them to the train station.

The food, the atmosphere of the whole place was so relaxed and friendly, it was just so nice get away from blighty for a while. We saw the best of Amsterdam and had some fun with the photos.

The journey back was more scenic than the way up, we made our way to the coast to the beach for lunch, the food was ace, they really know how to make good food over there.

The highlight of the trip back were the tunnels, in which, of course we opened up the loud pedal and what a sound:hyper: and i would also like to state the obvious: The TT's are bloody quick, i just never realise before how quick they are compared to my N/A and thats not particularly slow:tongue:

But regardless of speed we all kept together very well, even in traffic.

All in all, i would recommend this trip to any body contemplating on going next year, its a fun but long drive, which lets face it, the longer we can drive our babies the better IMO, the company was spot on, a nicer group of people you couldnt wish to meet, the food and accommodation first rate.

I for one will be one of the first to put my name down to go again next time as it was a trip not :nono: to be missed.

I will upload my pics soon but im sure once all the vids and pics are ready they will go up for all to see.

Cheers

Graham

One of your pictures had banners/links contained in it, therefore it has been removed.

We do not allow direct links like that and its one rule for all, so it was removed.

Hope you understand :)

Thank You.

Yep as said really, we can't let one go through when we ask others to remove pics with other forum links etc in them. The banners displayed in the picture had other forum names/links.

Thanks :)

OK Thanks
