Quick question about seats

Can you just swop velour manual seats in a series 2 for electric leather seats from a series 1? i.e will it fit the loom ok or will I need to modify?

Featured Replies

I have a series 2 passenger seat which I retro-fitted a bit of series 1 loom in the car. Works fine.

But, by the looks of it, you're wanting to fit a series 1 passenger seat which isn't electric. Only way to convert, would be to pull all the squabs and material off and swap them over.

It's the other way round mate, I want to put an electric series 1 in to a series two that has manual seats.

I'll have too get it out and have a look. Was there any difference to the looms between S1 and S2 electric seats?

Hi mate from what I remember the S2 seats and S1 seat connectors should be the same. The only differences are when you get heated seats which have a 6 pin plug or if you have the seast belt tensioners also wired from the plug. These are all pretty easy to solve though.

Cheers for that mate, but I had a look and all i've got is the seat tensioner wires :( So I'm going to have to make up some leads for connecting my electric seats, which should be fun... not
