Any pictures and specifications would be great.

I have booked myself on a trackday at Silverstone for the 7th June. It's a Monday and it's the Arena Circuit which is perfect for our cars with longish straights and long sweeping bends. So, if like me you want to prove your car rather than just talk about horsepower on the forum here's your chance :lol:

Hi Bobgenie;

I have tried to collect 4 ZX-owners from Scandinavia, but the weekend 5.-6. june everyone is participating in Denmark at a huge arrangement named "Denmark`s fastest car" which is a drag-event. 25.000 people are gathered.

So unfortuneately this date was difficult to manage.

I hope there will come more chances.

Best regards Jorgen.

PS: Any news regarding Macca`s monster project?

Hi mate;

Be sure that you will NEVER finish. A 300ZX is a never ending project. The more you get out of it, the more you want for it.

What went wrong or need to be improved?:confused1:

When I decided that the red project had limited scope for improvement then it finished as a project lol. Not much really. A lot of oil surge causing smoke and serious brake fade even with the brembos and track brake pads. Otherwise it went very well indeed and didn't disgrace itself against some very special cars.

As far as my slicktop is concerned it's a few weeks away from the bodyshop. From there to Pete to get finished and that will be the finished project with the only likely change being a 6 speed gearbox or whatever is required to achieve my ultimate goal :)

It's probably going on the dyno next week actually so be interesting to see what the power is with and without the NOS. More importantly, similar power to the red one and probably over 300 kgs lighter :)

i know of 2 motors that were built last year running the full tomie stroker kits, one down on the south coast and the other was being built by hyper sports in bolton and both cars running the trust 20g's so both have potential to be 800 bhp cars

i sold my engine and turbo set up to a member on here and that was a 800+ setup but i'm not sure if he's dont it yet

Mike

Has any one installed an RB30DET into the z32???

Updated official list of the most powerful 300ZX in the UK as per 29. January 2010:

* Bobgenie: 504 rwhp

* Jaffa: 494 rwhp ( 516 rwhp peak previously)

* Mikael Jackson: 483 rwhp

* Bass: 514 at Hub (Thor dyno)

* Silverbullet: 425 rwhp

Are there any new projects out there to be added to the list?

My little honey is nearly running off to be base mapped in the next few weeks.

Although it needs fixing/sorting out- as Bobgenies is at the hubs, and madmax is at the flywheel. Needs to be consistent

I believe the others are correctly listed as rwhp.

note: bobgenie and CJ is the same car, with different owners and some changes.

No its not . The figures shown by Bobgenie are for his new white Slicktop.

The red car he bought from CJ is no more.

Aha, I did not know there existed such a list.

Good.

Has Macca given up his Beast from East?:2guns:

I think they all need to be done on the same rolling rd, at the hubs is best as you struggle to keep the wheels down if you have lots of power and just end up ruining tyres.

Or at least the same kind of dyno if there is one that is in a lot of locations in the UK. Alternatively maybe do it on Torque as that is the actual power that forces you down the rd not BHP. That way im guessing it is a better "power" indicator?.

Thing is all of these cars handle like a sack of shit when you start hitting the bigger numbers, mine just on the base map with low boost is virtually un driveable. God only knows what kind of savage suicide machine it will be when it is finnished. Im having serious doubts about putting the NOS in and running it on race Juice. Half throttle now and she is sideways even at like 60-70 mph. Thing is as well you get no warning with her as she revs so fast and there is no lag from the tubs even on low boost so it kind of just rips away from you.

On a Dyno i would be happy to give it an 80HP squirt of NOS, chuck some race juice in it and put the boost a lot higher but would probably only want to do that on a hub dyno. I dont see the point of shredding a decent set of tyres everytime you want a dyno figure. I had a brand new set of tyres on mine and the rollers have half worn them out in one session.

Hi Madmax;

This must be the most serious and well made project in the UK for a 300ZX.

Your project site is impressive, also the fact that you probably have spent much time and money on the car. The result is amazing and is hopefully worth every penny and hour. I have been through many of your stages on the engine, and if you send me your mailadress, I can provide you with specs for my project, a car from year 1996 with only 40.000 km on the counter. It took me 4 years and 50.000£ - only on engine.
