How do you know this? Is this information a reality or a belief?

Well like most things in the bible, people just accept it even without any evidence to support it. I'm sure in time we will all know if it is reality or not.

Where does the information contained in the first testament of the bible draw its facts from? Most of it defies belief, but then again, so does the creation of the universe and all that's in it. This is why I am sat on the fence with it all. :)

You would be suprised how much factual pieces of information you will find in the bible. An example would be when people thought the earth was flat, contrary to bible belief which suggest the earth was 'spherical in shape'.

True lol. But according to the Bible, God has everything planned out and he never fails to meet his schedule. We're supposedly living within the last days.

Iv'e looked at various faiths and belief's during my studies on the subject

and from what i can remember the theory that were living in the last days before a literal judgment day only tends to be practised and believed by by ONE main group who believe the following

last days started in 1914 and the world has been showing what the bible describes as pangs of distress ever since

Is this what ur reffering 2 ??

That was human evolution though. They discovered where they were and what they lived on.

Yeah! and look at us now :)

I agree with Viniboy in his description of God, which is our collective higher conscience. Religions in my opinion are good for humanity and society in that they have given and guided moral and ethical standings in what originally was a lawless and barbaric society.

Horrendous crimes unfortunately have been carried out in the name of misguided and misinterpretated religious beliefs through the centuries. The essense of all religions however to my belief is that of compassion and love for one another. The administration of religion unfortunately has been a different story where control of the people were the prime drivers. The Catholic Church which I was born into, and to be honest I do accept most of its teaching, held a horrendous control over the congregation. In times gone by, it ruled through fear and ignored Christian doctrine when dealing with people who had according to its teaching "sinned". Thankfully that outrageous grip has been released through the rebellion of its followers to uncover some of the vile acts of the priests to the most innocent and weakest members of our community, our children. I'm sure that all faiths have been also blighted with so many bad apples.

God to me is inside everyone of us. Its our energy, our spiritual calling if you like. Break down our body and our make up to its most basic entity and it is accepted that we are energy fields as is the earth and the universe. Relate the scientific law of thermodynamics which says that energy can neither be created or destroyed have no beginning nor end, we are coming back to some of the many definitions of what God has been described as. Therefore after our human bodies die and decay our spiritual being is freed and our energy (if our current understanding of energy is correct) is released into the universe to take another form. I do not however subscribe to the theory of reincarnation myself, but everyone to itself.

I think it was KIM how said earlier that the God question is one argument that can never be decisively won or lost. Me I believe everyman to himself.

Yeah we can send a man to the moon but we still can't figure out our existance other than via the use of myth and legend.

Yeah, JW's.

It is hard to concieve that there are people (and lots of them) in this modern world that still believe some of the shite that aincient people believed in. I mean science has disproven a lot of theories over time and time itself has done the same. The problem that I can see with these religoius fanatics is that these are old religions and thousands of years ago the human race didnt live in a multi racial world now we do and these relgions should try to adjust to this fact. We must all learn to live together for the good of the human race and not for the progression of one or any acient religious belief. It was revealed that the world was not flat and that there is no man in the moon. The Sun is not a god and niether are the stars. The wind and rain is not a punishment and death is the natural process in which we move asside for the progression of our race. The human race. So how can killing another person ever (in a sane world) be for the good of anything? OK I have posted this before but this is appropriate so I will do so again. Its my poetic answer to this thread.
