Who created God then?

Exactly if you say god just appeared then your a believer in the big bang theory in a sense. nothing can come of nothing there has to be an element to build on.

i feel that people who are religious just find a comfort that somebody or some thing is watching over them to make them feel more secure in such a lonely and big world. i have no problem with that as long as they don't try to push there beliefs onto me. my point is have your religion but don't go kill millions of other human beings who don't share the same beliefs as you. that go to ALL religious faiths

The whole idea of a never ending universe with no beginning or end makes my head spin. As a human being no one can imagine something without a beginning or end so i just take it as read and don't try to explain it.

I've seen too many weird things in my life not to believe in the paranormal or the human soul which i do think lives on in the afterlife.

I'm sure there's all these scientists out there that believe everything can be answered with numbers but sod it - take life as it comes, do some good and make a difference. It's always nice to know when you've gone people will remember you did some good :)

But if you believe that God is outside of time (he created time, along with all the other dimensions we know), then the problem of where God came from is irrelevant, the question no longer makes sense. The whole concept of creating and building on is based with in a time structure. I believe that God is outside of time, and so simply 'is'.

I completely agree with KIM when he says that this is an argument that no one will ever win (or at least not in this life:D), as no one can prove anything either way. On one level I must admit that I do rather enjoy debating this subject, although on another level, as a dedicated Christian, I do think it is actually very serious, but I don't think this is probably the right place to start preaching:)

I believe that this thread will be deleted before the post count reaches 20.

and its gone on for more than 20 posts without being closed or moved :D

You're making this stuff up as you go along. You're now got trying to incorporate scientific theories about time and space into your religion,

that's a typical religious trick. As soon as science proves religious ideas to be ridiculous, religious types then do a quick bit of back tracking and say yeah that's what we meant all along, e.g. when we said all the animals went on the ark we didn't mean it literally it's an analogy for something or other.

This all powerful God that now you're telling us created time, hasn't he got more to do with his time than worry about whether some insignificant entities (i.e. us) are coveting our neighbours oxen or pointing in the right direction for prayers.

Also is this time inventing God a Christian,Muslim,Jewish or any of the umpteen religions God.

God's time is infinite, so I'm sure he has some to spare. I mean, if one day is 1000 years, he can pretty much chillax for a while lol.

Suppose so. Guess if He felt He was running a bit short in the time situation he could just create a bit more.

True lol. But according to the Bible, God has everything planned out and he never fails to meet his schedule. We're supposedly living within the last days.

How do you know this? Is this information a reality or a belief?

Where does the information contained in the first testament of the bible draw its facts from? Most of it defies belief, but then again, so does the creation of the universe and all that's in it. This is why I am sat on the fence with it all. :)

Wasn't aware that there are any 'facts' in the old testament.

Well whatever. I don't know where most of the information comes from. I understand a lot of it is written in ancient scripture, but 2 or 3k years ago, there was little in the way of scientific knowledge.

I don't consider much in the bible to be factual.

its a book of stories and rules written for a lawless society.

imo it was just a way of civilising a society which didn't have rules. we have rules etc today ethical and law.

in a world where there is no logical understanding of something happening it must have been a "GOD" where as today due science and proof we can explain how a lot of things happen etc.

Nature. No religions no rising dead people or innocent virgins. The only miracale any of us will ever winess is the miracle of life.

But if you wish god is conscience.

IMO ;)
