Got my apexi air filter through today and fitted it (Thanks Speedfreak).

The difference is amazing!

I was running a cheap one I had lying around in the garage, it was meant to be a temporary fix but that was 8 months ago:slap:

Anyway the way the car is now it so different there is more boost, I think the dump valves are louder, the car dont back fire any more and best of all the petrol smell I got when I floored it has gone. Think it has to be one of the best £25 i've spent:)

Proof that cheap air filters are crap:D

I try to avoid fitting cheap stuff to my Z. Would rather not fit at all.

I fitted an A'pexi filter last week (brand new). I haven't even started the car yet let alone driven it so I can't say if I've noticed anymore throttle response, which, is what you're noticing. I am replacing the stock airbox/filters.

Shame about the dump valves though.

I remember when i had a scooby and had a greddy dump valve with a panal K&N panal filter and thought it sounded really loud, i then installed a cone filter and the dump valves became rediculasly loud and you could hear the turbo chat on full boost so much louder.

Its suprising the difference they make.

As I said it was a temporary fix, didn't want to put the air filter box back in. It was hard enough getting it out

I just went all out when i did mine and bought the Blitz SUS, prolly the most expensive one especially considering i bought it without shopping around lol. BUT it is superb, never given any problems and that includes damp MAF probs - not a hint of that!!! :D
