was just thinking that but headlights too??

Although front fogs are not a legal requirement, any light fitting, fitted to a car is supposed to work. Having said that i had 1 front fog lamp bulb out and it passed the MOT, depends who tests it and where by the sounds of it, re relevant posts on the subject.

Yeah if you tell them it dont drive at Night :D Can turn up without a front bumper too!

I had some buggered Seatbelts in the back of my old Vectra (no1 ever sat there so didnt mind) so Failed on it, took the back seats out went back and Passed :D

Had a crack in a tyre on it too which it failed on so swapped my 18inch alloy for a 16inch 1 my mate had on his Vec (outside the mot place) then rolled back in with it and passed :D

If an item is not on the "tick sheet" then it should not have been part of the test.

An MOT test covers specific items; there is no section for "any other items fitted to the car that are not mentioned above!" As front fogs are not a legal requirement, your car should not have failed on one or both of them not working.

In any case, why didn't the tester simply replace the bulb after the test and pass it, if that's all it failed on?

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Its true about a few parts you can swap over but i dont think it would pass with different size wheels on it

are you fibbing? :smw:

Car just failed its test! Only one front fog working but bulbs ok, are the fogs on separate fuses? Cheers

cant you run wires from the good light to the bad one so when the good one comes on the power then cuts across to the bad and they both work i did this to my son ax when one of hes lights did not work for the m o t and it passed and a year later it was still working sorry to say ax on this site ha ha

Do you need a rear fog light? as mine has never worked an fuse info panel is in jap.
