I'm thinking about putting my car on ebay with a starting price of £100 but a reserve of £8.5k.

How much it is going to cost me to advertise this with a reserve for a 7 day auction ?

I very much doubt it will meet the reserve, but I'm very interested to see what Joe public thinks it's worth.

Maybe we should have a sweep stake before I do it.

On a 7 day auction...

I recon it will get to £4,800

That calculator doesn;t include the ebay motors options. Which I think is a set listing fee plus a % of the winning bid.

It's been on Piston heads for almost 2 months now.

I've listed it at a higher price as I know I hae to be a little flexible and probably knowck a grand off the asking price.

i sold my mates father-in-laws camper van on ebay last year i think its a percentage up to £3000 any higher sale price its fixed at £30, all in i think the ad and pics and the sale fee it was about £35.

The van sold for £5700

Stu, i believe cars cost £8 to list and IF it sells a final fee of £15.

Therefore IF it sells it will cost you £23 if not £8.

HTH :)

Just read through all the ebay fees for motors.

£8 to list

£4 for a reserve

If it meets the reserve the fees are:

£1 - £2000 = £20

£2001 - £3500 = 1%

£3500 + = £35

So for £12 I'm going to stick it on there just to see how much it will hit. I doubt the reserve will be met so it's just a sweep stake on how much it will get.

How much do you think the final bid will be ?

I'll put it on there tonight.

6000 or there abouts i reckon.

modded zed went for about 7500 on there not long ago and it wasnt as good as yours so i reckon you will get around 7000 on ebay.

I'm thinking mod or low £4000 as well Steve.

I'll put it up shortly and post the link here.

maybe £6200 if you changed this line ;)

I would prefer to sell to someone who will not look after it as it would break my heart to see it years down the line looking like an old shed

Also you put this, did you mean still standard??

The car doesn’t have much left on it that isn’t standard

LMAO !!!. I tried to change that but can not seem to be able to change it in edit more. I'll have to have a look at it again and see if I can sort it.

Good to see someone read the whole description.

Doh, yes I will chage that as well.

While we're being picky:

"I have kept almost every receipt for anything I have every purchased"

;)

My Ebay - scroll down to Items for sale - and click the drop down menu next to the item title (to the right of it) and 'revise item' ;)

So there is no way to change the item description once bidding has started ?.

I'm sure people know what I meant. I mean some of the descriptions you see on E-bay are just laughable compared to mine :)
