I need to get my 300zx transported next friday. It is not running and has no road tax. It's also a widearch.

Just wondering what people have used in the past to transport there car? I was hoping to see if I could get the RAC to do it. Being widearch i wondered if you can get one of these on a trailer ok? Are recovery companys expensive? Its going from Basildon to Harlow.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Ant

Have a look on ebay, there are some pretty competetive car transport companies on there. If you have AA/RAC they will pick a car up for you for a charge. The wide arch issue wont be a problem with a trailer. Would have to be a full lift as you cant tow a rear wheel drive unless you take the prop off.

If you have problems with the widearch (a lot of trailers do), then just fit your space saver on one side.

If you have the use of a car with a tow bar you can hire a trailer for less than £40 a day.

I always would get AA to shift it and just request a Flatbed as i wouldnt bother risking it being towed!

I'd be more worried about ripping the front bumper off as you have an after market one. Can you get to the towing eye ?

The front bumper is already off the car so that shouldn't be a problem.

I have got a few quotes and the cheapest at the moment is £110. But I will keep trying.

I also tried the RAC and they weren't interested.

Thanks for all your help.

Ive had mine on the back of a covered van/beaver tail. Ive got a widearch, it fit on fine, but I didnt have the spacers on the rear, so the rear wheels were 60cm further in, each side. Otherwise it looked like the rear wheels might of caught on the edge.
