ok so most people remember there first car and all the stupid things you did to it - along the lines of 'neons', 'spinner binlids', 'light lids' massive jap spoliers on fiestas and the good old 'tights on the lights' :xxx:

- so me and a fellow JDM'r were slightly pissed at a badly timed BBQ and a bit bored n having a good old reminis about all the stupid embarrasing things that we did bak in th'day....when i had the amaizing idea to 'tight my lights'!! he then joind me and began removing his own lights on his supra......so 1 drunken hour later iv snapped off the strip that goes accross top of my lights gotten bored and given up - my mates supra has no lights atal.... needless to say its all gone a little wrong, im slightly sober'er now and iv bin outside to have a look and its a f**king mess....

long and short i need a new strip for the boot and my mate needs an auto electrician...

it sounded like a good idea at the time...:mac1:

Muhahhahaha,

those were the days, apparently they still are :D

Hope it's not too expensive to recover from.

P.S.

Stop wearing tights on weekends ;)

what the heck does 'tight the light' mean?? :o

Placing tights on the rear lights gave the effect of being tinted lol.

I should imagine:smash::smash:

It looks a bit strange though as the finish it matt as you can imagine!

Although I can't say I ever bolted any of that type of crap to even my first car.

pmsl  I hold my hand up and admit i did it for a week until one of them laddered so i spent the money and retrofitted some smoked clusters of the later granada mk3 facelift on there :D

Unfortunatley, there were no neons around for my 1st car, or bodykits and spoilers for that matter.

Same here. In fact I think the worst thing I've ever done, in terms of bling, is carbon fibre stick-on bits on the Z door frame - and even they look marginally tasteful !!! ;)

Yeah yeah! ;)

We used call the the Austin All Agro..... must have been a premonition of the cars we've got now !

My 1st car was a morris marina 1300 special, it was a special because it had headreasts and a clock:o my father fitted a new stereo and speakers for me on a xmas time (1988) and when we tested the stereo the drivers door window fell inside the door:o it had come off the runners!

It most prob would have fallen into the door when i drove it off the drive but, i thought i had a really poerfull stereo at the time:dance::rofl: an awesome 25 watts :x:

because i ruind my z with a drunken nostalgic trip down memory lane, i think the problem was i passed my test in 2002 when the world was full of 'fast and the furious n all that crap, motorworld and halfrauds re branded with 'kroozing' and 'ripspeed' and to 17 yearold kids its the best thing since slice bread, also cars have become more and more reliable so theres less money being spent on repairs and more on pointless plastic crap stapled to bumpers

should buy my tinted rear lights ;) all dark smoked tint and shiny too ;)

cheaper than this will end up for ya hehe

my brother has 1 like that sitting in his front garden for about the last 15 years, he starts it up about twice a year, his wife calls it the turd, do i remember something that whatever metal they are made of they dont rust (pity the japs didnt use it)

i learnt to drive in a mk11 1600e cortina wooden dash and all that

and when i got a baby blue opel ascona with a factory? black vinyl roof (in the day people glued vinyl on to all types of car roofs) that was a nice mod.

big cibie spotlights on escorts and minis

i also remember these things that were fitted under the back bumper, long strips of rubber with little metal shapes and coloured stripes, what was their purpose

oh and mud flaps
