Squeek and steering!!

Just got myself a TT 300. But 2 problems are after coming up, firstly a loud squeek coming from the front suspension, thinking it could be the upper swingarm as it seems to be coming from that area and its a common fault in other nissans like almeras. Anyone had the same prob and if so is it just a case of biting the bullet and paying main dealer prices for the part?

Secondly the steering is after getting a notchy feel to it, its allmost like a quarter of a turn is stiff and da next free and so on. Thats about the best I can discribe it. Sometimes seems to be worse than others. Checked the fluid levels and they seem fine. My mate had the exact same prob on a NA 300 but unfortunatly crashed it before he found the cause. Any help would be great.

Hi mate common squeeks at the front end are the bonnet, tighten up your catch and put some electrical tape around the bracket to make it a bit thicker and stay more securely in the catch. Also check your front ARB they often get dry at the bushes and a good squirt of wd or silicone grease can do the trick.

It definatly aint the bonnet anyway as had the bonnet off for other work and squeeks were still there!!!

Check the front ARB took me 6 months to pin point it eventually did it by standing on the front of the car and jumping up and down with the wife trying to see where the squeek was coming from. Check your bushes full stop as the rubber ones get dry.
