Just need the price now, found out I need to get a heater ecu too.

Hi Bud

Yes you will defo need the series 2 ecu also, they are quite rare to find second hand as its a mod that most want to have. Good luck with the search.

i may be selling mine. i have the ecu & both pods fitted with blue leds. would want £100 + p&p though if i decide to let them go.

Think I've found one, just need to find out of it comes with the heater ecu. also is it possible to put a pod in with cruise control and get it working in a car with out cruise control??

Cruise is a toy if you have it, but probably a waste of time to retro-fit!

As for the air-con pod, a very nice mod, especially if you have a moaning passenger!!!! ;)

my windscreen gets most of the heat. plus series 2 ones look better;)

They look even better with a Blue or Red LED back lighting!!

Best of luck with it bud, it's a bit of a pain in the back fitting the ECU (just to the left of your left leg when sitting in the drivers seat) as you are virtually laying on your back in the footwell! But you do loose the reading for the outside temp!

mine aint right anyway, says it's warmer than it is(about 3c) Was looking at groovers service page, not sure whether to do them myself as would save havint to keep removing bits and refitting

Do you? How come?

Because on the Series 1 version the lower number readout is the outside temp(Ambiant), but on the Series 2 version this space is used for the air-flow direction indication. This shows up better in the attached pic (Series 1 = Type A, Series 2 = Type B)

Oh yeah - i'd never noticed before. Presumbably with the series 1 controls your at the mercy of the car as to where the air comes out?

Yes that is correct, and the reason as to why i changed mine over to the Series 2 :D

I've never had a problem with the series 1 set it to 21-23 car warms up nice and comfortable. Seems to do its intended job.

I can't see the advantage of the series 2 over series 1. The series 1 setup automatically blows the air where it's best to set the overall temp of the car i.e. down low when it's trying to heat the car and up high (out of the normal vents) when it's cooling, as hot air rises etc. Why would you want to do that manually? If the series 2 allowed you to differentiate between driver and passenger I could see that as an advantage, but from that picture it doesn't look like it does.

A lot of owners think it doesnt work as it does tend to aim the heat at your feet and windscreen and rarely ever the middle or door vents

Ive completed this conversion on my series 1 89 model and im very happy with the mod. Though my series 1 A/C pod was running perfectly the series 2 presented more options for control on where you wanted air flow to go. The major set back for this mod is the fact the JDM Amplifier (Heater ECU) as its called is discontinued from nissan and so no new units can be brought from nissan anymore. I tried for at least 6 months before having to accepted the only amplifier i could get was a USDM which reads temperature in Fahrinheit, but ive now became use to the difference in the display.

I never had a S1 mines S2, i still dont think its that great lol
