I want to replace the battery in my Z for the correct one. I bought a random one from Halfords 3 years ago and it's been fine. But, I want the correct size so that I can refit the battery cover and battery clamps.

 

068 and 088 batteries seem to be the ones for the Z...but, what's the difference between the two?

 

Wanting confirm that this sized battery will fit the Z battery cover.

 

255mm Long

173mm Wide

182mm Height

 

Want to try and find a black battery. Most are like red, white or blue or something!

ok no probs, only i've search for the last half hour an cannot find a battery 255 wide x 173, I think this would probably do it, but the 068 is the recplacement for this old code and might be slightly out of spec for your cover.

I bought an 068 battery last April and it fits perfectly under the stock battery clamp. Like a glove in fact!

my 068 is black from that county batteries, but fitting the clamp wont mean it fits the cover.

I got it in Allparts. It cost me around £70 IIRC - I did buy a £45 one from another motor factors before that but it only lasted 5 minutes (well, just after the warranty expired actually)!!

i got a banner battery last year....was about 70 pounds..... fits in the battery cover perfectly.......and its black.....it has 068 written on the top.....

Picked a battery up today that was the best fit I could find inside the jacket sitting flush with the internal plastic fins either side of the jacket,its a 005 and measures 225mm x 170mm x 205mm

Got it from a local motor factors who ordered a few sizes in so i could try them for fitment, good price too at £50.

Tbh I was expecting it to be more than that especially after going to the trouble of ordering a few in too so yeh all in all I was well pleased mate as its something I wanted to re-fit since getting the car.
