NZR - Just bought Mrs T a 200SUX!!!

K plater 200 Turbo manual with 75K on the clock and she's chuffed to bits.

Bit ropey round the boot spoiler but that won't matter when it's been kitted up and sprayed.

Hey I must say that these cars are cheap as chips but like my old Mk III Soup are ALOT of car for the money!

Goes like a ding bat(what exactly is a ding bat?) and handles really well too.

So the way she is giving me more rabbit than Sainsbury's equates to I pay 1200 squids to buy it for her = 10K to mod it! Mug or what? ROFL biggrin.gif

So she can park up with the SXOC.com lot at Billing next year but she says she wants to park up with us instead...wooooooooooooooooo! LOL biggrin.gif

Timmy you didn't have to go and do that just to cheer me up !!

Reckon I should join SXOC.com so I can steal her off u bud in me modded 200SUX !!

You need to have a word with Nelson MF, he's on about modding his, perhaps you could compare notes. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

The boot thing is hereditary i'm afraid.

10K to mod it, assuming you spend wisely it'll eat your Zed for brekkie.

You can do an RB25 swap for £6k, prolly an RB26 for less than 10k LOL. Do that fook the paint and the frilly shit. wink.gif

If really derranged you could stick a VaG30 in it LOL.

Oh, it's not an Auto is it?

Should come with acid too Tim, oh I mean LSD being a K plater an'all.

LOL biggrin.gif

You can expect a barrage of emails in the next few months mate as I know bugger all about them.

Nice dash layout though. Nice gearbox aswell. wink.gif

Great. wink.gif

Auto's (Like the zed) are weaker than the Manuals, about 250 on an auto and about 400 on the manual.

do you still have your old calipers off the front of your Zed?

My mechanic reckon SX aut boxes are good up to about 350BHP. Whether the crank is up to it I'm not sure.

IF Manual gearboxes are so strong, how come 2 people with experience told me that an auto was less likely to have a sha99ed gearbox ?

They may be slightly stronger, but with an auto, the car is never in the wrong gear, gear changes are never fluffed etc., so is there much difference in practice ?

Jezz never got rid of the stock 300 calipers as the Skylark ones got sold even though my name was on them. Not Leighs fault.

'tis a manwell(bahhhhhh phwwuppphhhhhh) but hey not every automobile is created in the Lord Almightys perfect image! LMFAO biggrin.gif

Macca was telling me about the boot spoiler thing, shame that that spoils them. I dunno, don't these designers at large car corps. forsee these problems? Errrr, nope! LOL biggrin.gif

I don't care what your mechanic thinks.

Is the crank strong enough?, Yes it is up to 400-450, as long as you don't make a rev box engine. The wieght of the pistons at high revs bends the crank, and the oil flow on the CA18 to big ends is questionable as high revs distrupt the oil flow, try to stay below 8k. Use cams etc to keep the power band down below 8k.

Simon Norris' rev limit is 8k, and he has 480+bhp, im not sur he uses the std crank though.

The manual is stronger than the auto, just except it FFS.

Yes, you try to put more than 250 ish bhp through it it will die horribly.

Nelson, not trying to be funny, but every time you say something you talk a bunch of crap. Look at my screen name, I have an S13, it's pretty well modded, I've rebuilt most of it, i've done all the work myself and I know far better than you what I'm talking about. Okay? smile.gif

If you want to find out some thing re the 200sx, go to SXOC forum and ask there. There you get the opinion of many many people with modded 200sx's, not just your mechanic. I'm not saying your mechanic is wrong, but just cos someone is a mechanic doesn't necessarily mean they know stuff does it, so it's better to get the opinion of a few people.

Timmy the spoiler thing is pretty easy to sort, just weld some new sheet in, fill and paint. £200 seems to be the going rate.

Right i'm off to oxford now to get my bottom end balanced so I can rebuild my engine, if you'd like me to answer some more questions then I will later. smile.gif

Oh, have a nice day Nelson. wink.gif

Cheers,

Jezz.

My 'mechanic' has probably worked on and tuned more 200SX's than you've probably had hot dinners.

He has an Impreza which his friend rallies and tunes and he can work on pretty much any car. He can pull 300 engines.

Oh, forgot to say - fook off !!!

Oh dear frown.gif

bwhahahahha fight fight fight biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Nelson join the 200sx forum lmao.

ROTFLMFAO @ Nelson. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

You just don't get it do you?

I don't care if your mechanic works for bleeding NASA FFS. He might be very good, but he wont know it all.

One lone person does not know everything, not even me wink.gif, but if I don't know something I generally don't pretend that I do Nelson.

I'm saying if you want an opinion then ask various people. Lots of experiences from many people if far better than those of 1 person.

For example, Simon Norris, probably the most accomplished S13 tuner in the UK, he's good but doens't know everything. He said using the 300zx AFM wouldn't work on the S13. But it does, very well.

However if you plan to join the SXOC BB with the same attitude as you started with, and seemingly still have on here, then may I suggest DONT FOOKING BOTHER!.

BUT if you are seriously interested in modding your S13 and taking advice from others that have been there and done it then join the board and I and I'm sure the other members will help you out.

In fact I'd be interested to hear what your mechanic mate has done with respect to tuning them, what problems he's had etc, what turbo's he fitted, what size injectors he's used, what ECU's he's implemented.

I don't think it's fair saying I talk a load of crap, that's all - I agree with most of what you have said above.

When I put posts up I want a dialogue - I admit I know very little technical stuff about car engines and lots of other stuff (like most people). I expect constructive criticism, polite corrections not abuse. If I get things wrong after arguing a point, I will apologise.

Hope I haven't disappointed anyone by not starting a fight !!

Hey Guys!!!!! This thread was supposed to be about my new car..... It may not be the most beautiful, or the fastest, but it's my own little 'Mini Me' 300 disguised with a 200 badge. I will love it dearly and make it go faster than any car driven by a chick before. Jezz, I hope when I finally manage to register on the 200 forum you lot will be gentle with me LOL. xxx

LOL, your threads are all amongst the longest ones, you certainly get dialogue. smile.gif

200sx's are nice and cheap and are piss easy to work on, have a go at modding it, fooking it up (it will happen trust me) and then fixing it, you'll learn quick I did, it's not that difficult.

I bought my car, discovered the engine was shagged on the way home from buying it, I bought an old lump for £100 and rebuilt it having never done anything remotely like that before.

Now I know the car inside out and won't let anyone touch it unless it's really something I cannot do myself, which is pretty much nothing now, body work and tricky welding are my Achilles' heels (am learning on the welding, but terribly slowly & messily). Even then I only let people I trust, mates off the BB etc touch it.

Thats why I drove 300 miles to get my bottom end balanced by Oselli today cos I have confidence in them to do what I wanted them to do with professionalism.

There are far too many cowboys in the motor trade. (not wanting to start anymore wars &/or law suits here. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif)

If you are interested in actually doing the work yourself you are much better off buying tools to do jobs with the money you would have spent paying a mechanic to do a job for you. Cos if you take your time it will be a better job as there is no hourly rate involved.

Oh, and it's far far more rewarding when it all comes together.

You do have to have the interest, enthusiasm and inquizitiveness though to be able to do it else you'll just get pissed off with it, there are times when it all looks hopeless.

My car's been off the road for ages now, frown.gif but at least i've been in control of it's destiny. LOL Well in actual fact it's destiny is in the hands of some japanese guy to post my bloody head gasket!!

Don't worry Mrs T. All the 200sx guys 'n' gals are much more respectable than a few 300zx people.

Have fun....

Robert.

Rob's right, we're far more civil on the 200 board, why do you think I come over here to stir the shit? LOL biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Besides Mrs_T, from what I've heard you can more than handle yourself. smile.gif

We already have a few girlies anyway, one has just changed her turbo, shocks and brakes discs which I imagine is far more than most of the pussies on here will ever do. LOL biggrin.gif biggrin.gif.

confused.gif What off your toast?

Eh? How does that make your car go faster?

Surely not while driving, it'd slide off the plate FFS woman.

Well exactly! A very good point.... And if it fell on the accelerator pedal it could cause all sorts of havoc. However according to some people it's sexual thing but I just don't know what they're talking about.............................

Ah shit sorry, i'm with you now, you mean 'peeling the prawn', how embarassing, I'm sorry, had nowt to do with toast did it? redface.gif redface.gif

Still prolly not too good an idea whilst driving, imagine the decision you'd have to make if your mobile rang, no handed or stop frigging, tricky one that.

Perhaps a hands free kit for the prawn. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

'Peeling the prawn'?????? Do you men just sit at home all day thinking of nothing but disgusting names for womens bits???!!!!!! It was snail trails when I was younger, now it's gone all technical!!! LOL xxx
