I'm just wondering if anyone has managed to sell thier modified Z in the last couple of months ?.

I've had a few offers but not anywhere near what I was after.

Although I was thinking of waiting due to the market, I've now got my heart set on a nice X5 and I'm kinda thinking that I could sit on the price for ages and still not sell, so I guess I have to be a little more realistic and drop the price by a few grand.

I gave up trying to sell my slicktop last year admittedly it needs a resray laquer is flaking had offers of around £2500 i just couldnt let it go that cheap.Im going to keep it now ,surposedly swb slicktops tt manuals are meant to be rare i couldnt sell mine for more than 2x2 targa.

I have no idea what mine is worth but I know what figure I'd go down to. I don't intend on selling though, unless times got really bad. I still have the wild idea of getting an NSX, but I'd still keep the Z. For what little it's worth, I really can't be bothered to sell. Quite happy to hang on to it.

Haynes Motor Museum have said they'd put it on display if ever I wanted to take it there which is what I'd rather do than let it go for what they are going for now.

iv'e been looking for a nice Z recently, the market at the moment you can pick up some nice Z's quite cheaply, so it might be worth holding on to the car for a bit longer till the market picks up

I think the market isn't going much further south for them. Good TT manuals still fetch good prices (£3.5 - £5.5K), although the average price for average examples have fallen through the floor which make up the proportion of Z32s in the UK. Very very few are being imported anymore and a lot are being broken for spares. There are still a huge amount of tatty/poorly modified Z32s about that the good ones will still be a good catch and will hold their money.

im gonna be putting mine up for £5250 OVNO, know what i want for it and wont drop a penny further, if it dont sell-then i have some plans for it

I was offerwd 8K at japfest last year, couldent let it go though at that time. Would take it now as there is a nice clk500AMG convertible around at 16K

I've had a few silly offers but I'm in no rush, I've got 4 months yet before I want it gone and something else in it's place.

Stange how when "we" are buyers we all become hard face experts who have no time for sellers who dream of selling their beloved car for lots of cash, but once "we" are sellers we become specialist car traders with a "thats the price and not a penny less attitude

Admit we all do it......but on the other hand the 300zx and other cars like it do not have an average price any more. Each zed needs valuing on its own merits, condition, service history, MOT, aftermarket bits with the last one often reducing the price!!

Recent months from our experience at work is they are still selling but in the main via traders/ garages as most new owners want some form of warranty.

As a guide I know of maybe four zeds sold over the past 3 months or so from varied dealers and all were 4k to 5k for H and J reg cars which in these times is strong cash for a standard car.

They are rare....BUT rare doesnt always equal desirable.

For example a good rust free Austin Maxi is a rare car but is sadly lacking in desirability.

To you and me as Slicktop owners they are the best thing out there but as far as selling prices are concerned they aren't worth any more than their more common mates with greenhouse roofs.:nono:

its only so you don't burn your bald spot!!:p

Mine will be entering the fray soon and tbh i'm thinking off taking off every nice bit on it and using the breaker i've got to put it back to stock form and make the most back from it, would also make it easier to sell being stock.
