magic, should have some answers tomorrow about the others.

If they are big enough, you should be able to get a pair for about 25 quid :hyper:

im not selling anything

Im going by ebay prices :hyper:

Im waiting on the guy messaging me back, once i have the dimensions, il let you know, it wont be as good as godspeed, but looks to be abou 30-50% bigger than stock :hyper:

Size is important alright but Biggest doesn't mean its best. Long intercoolers cause pressure drops which inturn creates an element of turbo lag.

It will be interesting to learn of the dimensions of the ones you have sourced.

It doesnt look too much bigger, just thicker, looks to be about 3.5 inch in the pics, they guy is breaking the car and i noticed the cooler looks to be close in relation to the 300zx one, of course some piping will need to be made up, but not much.

finger crossed

ok got a message back from the guy, the sizes are 425mm long, 200mm wide by 90mm deep.

Does that sound good to everyone here ? :D

First of all are you sure that it is 425mm Long and 200mm Wide (15" long x 8" wide) and not the other way around? If it correct then you will experience an element of turbo lag compared to other SMIC's but while this may be the case, it will be an improvement on the stock intercoolers.

For a very good guide and read on the SMIC's comparison click on this link. It gives a much better explanation of the compression, charge face, turbo lag and why it happens etc..

HTH

Dont forget that just because the intercoolers are large in size means they are any good. You also have to think about the internal design of the 'cooler.

Something like this (Godspeed)

Is going to be nowhere near as efficient at cooling air as something like this (HKS)

intercooler_infins.jpg

as you can see, the difference between the fins on the inside of the cooler are fairly different. The HKS has got nearly double the amount of fins as the Godspeed, which equals double the amount of surface area, which in turn makes it far more efficient at cooling even though its a smaller unit. I have a pic somewhere of the internals of a Stillen SMIC for the zed, which again has easily double the amount of fins of the HKS

Yes im sure of the sizes, and tbh the lag wont increase that much in comparison to FMIC, and the design isnt going to be as good as hks, but considering they are about 1/20 th of the price, you cant complain :nono:

They are from the landrover 300tdi

there are a few on ebay just now, but please dont buy them all up, as i ned to wait till next week to buy mine, thats why i was so hesitant to tell :wack:
