Hi,

Unfortunetly my neighbours car got stolen off his drive last night which worries me as my Z will hopefully be back home soon. What have people done to beef up security on the cars and drives?

Cheers

Vijay

a decent alarm with warning stickers, visual although sometimes crap security aids like handbrake and gea locks, steering locks, ram post in ya drive, weld your gates on so they cant be lifted off, lock them up with a high security lock like what you would use on a motorbike anthing to make them think twice, if it looks like a pain in the ass to nick they prob wont toucch it, i would imagine your neighbours car was something inconspicious something that wouldnt be esy detected if stolen unlike the zed

if your zed is stolen its because they want it for a reason, not just for joyrididng

No fuel and flat battery...lol

On a serious note I have a toad ai606 with every possible add-on avail, fitted a hidden kill switch too,I appreciate if someone really wanted to take it it would happen but at least it makes it a tad more difficult.

I have Cat1 Alarm & Immobiliser and a snap-off quick release steering wheel.

Car is parked behind padlocked gate at night with another car blocking it in and im looking to buy an infra-red Motion Camera to go with my Motion sensing floodlight.

Apache, I love your idea of security. Imagine some scrote nicking you car and being tracked down by an apache! :D

Already got a cat 1 alarm and I've also got a Rhino parking post which should help. Totally forgot that I had a quick release steering wheel boss so will have to get that sorted before the Z comes home.

David, I like the idea of an infa-red motion camera, have you looked at any?

My neighbours car is a Honda CRV but there seams to be a trait of cars stolen or windows smashed over the last few weeks - SCUM!!

just got the same as already mentioned clifford g5 warn away system though , security lighting and cctv:)

To be honest, i never went for alarms cause no one ever reacts to one anyway. I installed a hidden cut off switch on the fuel pump.

No fuel, no steal car!

Got the big dog but she likes her sleep too much! lol

Big fooking Dog normally works...

got one of them to lol , and cause the clifford's got a warn away feature that i use at night , she only has to hear that and kick off big time as knows it means someone's close classic !! :)

can you turn that "warn away" feature on an off by the remote?

Yeah on the 650 it's G5 button twice and the boot button to take warn away feature on or off

(i only use mine at night or when parked up away from home as it's rarther sensetive)!

:D

wouldn't mind that just at night but I hate it normally ;) Something to look into :)

it's one of the main reasons i got the alarm ! certainly has it's uses for me !!

U can choose to disable the warn away feature perm if u want or temp for 1 arm ' if that makes sense!

keep's the local cat's off the bonnet 2 so bonus :hyper:

How have you found the Clifford in general? Always read they were a bit tempramental

How have you found the Clifford in general? Always read they were a bit tempramental

vijay....mine was solid...as per the warnaway can be turned off by the remote if its going to be raining hard etc...expect to pay @£400 fitted

other cheap security to get you by for now is to remove the relay that fires the ignition coil...takes less than 1 min to pop out / pop in ;)

Vijay, speak to brett, he supplies and is a qualified fitter of car alarms. He could point you in the right direction if your still unsure.

Hi bud yeah i read similar reports my self !

and again as said never had any probs and paid 450.00 fitted by qualified clifford engineer

(as mine had to have a passenger door motor for the central locking also);)

Guess as per any alarm it's down to the fitting.

Had my Clifford fitted for about 6 years now and never had any problems, finding a good fitter is as you said, also top of the list.
