My contract is up for renewal on 7th of Jan,

I need to get a new phone and can pretty much get anything.

The only 2 im looking at have been N96 and the Blackberry Storm.

Now I currently have the N95 which is a decent phone but had crap memory which does my head in and it keeps resetting itself.

Ive never had a touchscreen phone so im a bit unsure on the blackberry.

What does everyone think of these? Anyone think something else would be better?

I went for the samsung omnia 16 gb model its ok but texting with fingers like sausages can be a a pain :mac1:

If you are looking at Blackberry, take a look at the Bold. I have had a Curve, have a Bold now, and it was looking like I was going to get the Storm. It looks ok, but the lack of Wi-Fi and the reports of the OS hanging and being slow means I will be waiting for the second generation. The Bold is ace.

I know one company that bought some Storms for thier sales force and a week later sent them back and had Bolds. They were too slow.

I have had a bold for a few months now and it is pretty good but I use it as a business device, not sure how well it would work as a personal device.

I am due to receive some Storms today so I will let you know if it is any good.

I got a Blackberry Bold and an I phone, now the I phone is cool and oncce your used to texting it's ok, i can text faster than a normal phone.... but didnt want the touch screen on the blackberry, somethng about having buttons to touch... TBH i wasnt worried about the lack of WIFI on the storm cos i have the Apple... N96, Nokias are always a safe bet but some times you need to gt away from them for a phone's length if that makes sense...

At the end of the day it's your choice, which one are you leaning towards??

Have you considered the iPhone? I got one of these about 3 months ago and i can't imagine trying to use anything else now. Apparently the Storm is basically a normally Blackberry with a touchscreen glued on so it doesn't integrate very well with the OS and i swore i'd never get another Nokia after the dreadful N80.

The iPhone isn't perfect but it's very close. I can now leave my laptop at home for weeks at a time and not miss it.

I think this is a personal phone, I have the I phone hadboth Gens, it's far from perfect.. no picture messaging, the camera's crap and no video messaging, blue toothing files isnt allowed....

But it is a very good phone, full access to the internet, viewing word and execl files is no probs.....battery life could be a little better, depending on what your doing......

Totally agree. The iPhone is more like a mini computer with a phone built in but it, like me, you never used the picture messaging, crappy mobile phone cameras, video messaging etc. then it's ideal.

Also you've gotta admit that the user interface is the best of any phone out there....

After looking at all the mentioned and allready having a iphone.

I decided on the HTC Touch Diamond.

Take a look i like it.

The Storm arrived today..

It looks ok until you take the protective cover off and the screen rattles in the frame !

Used it for all of 5 minutes before it was obvious I was never going to like it. When you want to press a button you have to make the screen "click" which feels like it is about to break. :hurl:

Even though it was supposed to be the one for retail, it still wanted to connect to a Exchange Server. :nono:

Its going back tomorrow with a warning to our staff not to waste their money.

Go with the iPhone or Nokia.
