Where on the wheel does it state the size tyre it should take, like 8J or 8.5J or whatever

Does it say it on the wheel or the tyre? because my tyres do look stretched but i dont know how big to go

Featured Replies

I don't think it says what size tyres you should use, as it is personal preference. You just find out the width etc and then choose a tyre :)

but where does it say the width? do you have to measure it?

Nah it should be stamped on the inside. Usually on the inside of a spoke. :)

awww, so i have to remove the buggers to check, or use a mirror

Yep :(

And if i were you i would'nt bugger about with a mirror, cos its usually quite hard to see even with the wheel off, lol.

Just whip it off and you should find what you need :)

what size have you got on there now ?

ive got 225/40/18 on the front in the pic that are stretched so im putting 245/35/18 and that will sort the problem out

Not really. You're increasing the width, but reducing the profile, you'll have a similar effect. You want to fit 245 40 18

245/35 will reduce the stretch look if thats what he is aiming for.

It will, but not as much as 245 40 which is the ideal profile for the fronts.
