If it's the perspex strip he's painted, likelyhood is, he's keyed it. So, even if you remove the paint, the surface finish will be ruined.

You could paint the thing gloss black. But new ones are only £50. I'd sooner shell out the £80 it cost to get the one with the integral 3rd brake light.

use thinners then using a buffer get stuck in with some g3 and your plastics will come up mint remember to use water aswell

Thanks bud will i get g3 from a body shop supplies, if that doesn't work i'll paint it black as si suggested

Thanks guys

i use to own a body shop and can tell you bye the time youve invested in the stuff need to get red your best of buying a new one

I assume that you do not have the stock spoiler........

......if so, then the "black" strip above the lights but beneath the spoiler just sticks on over the paint like a "go faster stripe:D"

If your car has had the spoiler removed and the perspex strip painted, then do as Si says and buy a new one. It will work out much less effort and cost less than sanding, prepping etc etc.

Richard:)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Exactly!

A new strip is only £50. forget what Si says about the brake light one.

You will waste hours of your time and at least a tenner in materials and you will probably break it as you are rubbing it.:x:
