Bonjour, iv been driving my Z now for almost a month and i'll be honest, its not doing a great deal for me, i do generally get bored of cars quick if there's no click there, but I did have my FTO for a year and I loved it, don't know why theres no chemistry with the Z though! I'm trying to love it but just can't, seriously thinking about px'ing or selling, in the mood for something classic again possibly a karmann ghia or if I can find one a '77 celica ra28, did any1 else get this when they first brought their Z or was it love at first sight for you all?

had mine 5 years now,and its a still a thrill when you get in and drive.....defo love at first feel....

everyone seems to go through phases of hating their zeds...but its the same for any car if you have them long enough...i guess your phase came early...i'd rather hate a zed then a mondeo :D

I'm on to my 4th one now, this is the biggie with a 6.3 litre V8 :D

First day i drove mine was a bright, hot, sunny day, targas off and the wind in my hair. Awesome experience.

Hold onto it until the summer buddy, you won't regret it, totally different car with the roof off! :D

how much boost are you running? wouldn't be surprised if you're in safety mode...

He has an NA Auto, which could be the cause of the problem, sorry other NA Auto owners, but its not the most thrilling to drive out of the range.

My first was an NA auto, it wasn't bad but my mk3 supra NA was quicker.

The NA manual is as quick as my TT so i'm more than happy with it :D

i never liked 300 but 2 years ago i took one as a px and put it up for sale one week later i was takin the for sale sign out of the window and the rest is history

You really need a drive in a well maintained manual TT, the cars couldn't be any different!

Like your engine will be, the way you treat it! LOL

I have a n/a 300 and for me i wish i had got a tt ,but i still have fun in the n/a its how you drive it, i like the UNEXSPECTED when pushing the car round the roads at night and in the rain gets the heart rate going

Not exactly a like-for-like comparison (FTO vs 300ZX). For starters, the 300 is a "GT cruiser" compared to the FTO and is a lot heavier. In NA guise the car is underpowered for the weight it needs to shift but it is still a damn good car. Auto or Manual, it doesn't really make a difference, the power to weight ratio is what counts. I think if you get into a well maintained and slightly tuned NA (ie, induction, exhaust, chip, suspension upgrade) you will find it is a different car all together. Still doesn't compare to the TT but in my opinion the instant reaction you get when you press the throttle in an NA is more addictive than straight line accelleration in a TT.

Just my 2p worth.

However, having said all the above, some cars just don't click with some people. I think it is an expectation versus reality thing.

i had the same problem as you with my first one, i bought a NA auto from my mother (yes, my mum) and had it a few months, got bored quickly and sold it, bought a scooby, got bored with that and started craving a zed again (the seat position was the killer)

So i started looking again, i wanted one exactly the same as my last one but a tt manual, i bought an auto because it was immaculate and well priced, but now i have zed fever

ive had enough of mine, time for a change, ive done lots to it lately and i just aint got the heart in it anymore, once fully sorted it will be up for sale

Does'nt even need to be a TT, a good NA Manual can be a blast to drive.

I'm talking about extremities. I like driving the NA. In Manual format it's so easy to drive and controllable. :)

had my auto NA for just over two years which is the longest I have kept any car, still love to drive it every weekend, they are just such a fun motor to drive. (but I have not been in a TT yet).

yea i spose its different for everyone, having said what i have though some days i do sit in it and i'll drive around just for the hell of it so i think im just suffering from automotive asphyxiation.. but im originally a classic car lover and im craving for something old again.. might just get a classic and keep this alongside it i think

where abouts you from Tee ?.

Maybe you should have a drive in a TT and see if you like it then :)

The NA manual for me is more fun, the TT pinned you back in your seats when the boost kicked in but the NA is gruntier :D
