When I bought my zed it had a large bore single exit exhaust. It is really loud and meaty which some people might prefer, but I would prefer a quiet ride.

Is the stock exhaust any good or is it too restrictive?

What after market exhaust is the best compramise between noise and performance?

HKS silent Hi-Power

Thanks Pete, do you who stocks them? I have just done a google search and they seem to be around £500 and are single exit only.

Anyone know where to get them cheaper and twin exit? I'm not a fan of the single exit look.

I'd go with the blue flame stock (ish) looking one (Slightly bigger and a little louder than stock) nice note and well made, not loud when cruising.

i had a custom made s/s one done. fitted for £425. why not enquire at a decent exhaust centre. you tell them what you want & they will make it.

Yep, that would be my vote too for a quiter sounding option.

The mongoose / blueflame quad exhaust.

Does this mean the stock one is not recommended?

I don't mind having stock.. but I don't want to spoil any future upgrades?

Stock is going to be more restrictive than aftermarket. Most of them are rotting away though these days and it is very quiet (you will hear the engine above the exhaust note). I'd say the mongoose/blueflame is a much better compromise as well as being Stainless steel.

not seen any sinlge pipe exhausts on Z,

asume they obviously have a Y pipe by the catalyc converter,

then out the left/right side of car.

i have an ebay 'japspeed' exhaust on mine and i wouldn't say it was loud, just bassy and its only £300, top quality too

not the super dragger, the hi power silent, pretty sure its a twin exit, and lovely sounding to boot :)

I have looked on the web for a twin exit HKS silent Hi-Power and can't find them anywhere.

Where did you see them?

I have mongoose as i wanted similar look to stock with quad exit. It's loud enough with a nice note with the targa's off or windows open when you give it some, but nice and quiet when cruising on the motorway and not that loud at all at lower revs...would be my recommendation as first call after stock...As someone has said, no such thing anymore and any you do find will be rusting through anyway?!!
