Right, now that I have had the car for nearly a week (and done 600 miles in it) I have started to uncover some minor niggles.

With it being that time of year, I am using the heater quite a lot, I have noticed that I have 2 options when selecting the fan speed, it is either off or full whack (No 4).

Will this be a connection issue (maybe a dismantle and clean) or do I need to replace the switch??

as already said. most common problem on any car is the resistor pack with this problem. ive not looked but im sure its located behind the passenger side glove box. normally a small unit with around 4 wires & 2 screws that hold it in. if you are any good with a soldering iron then its an easy fix, just solder a bridge wire across the resistor, job done.

hi, not trying to nick your thread but this is related. My heater has isues as well. can only get it to turn on by pressing the windscreen icon and i cant find how to change it from blowing on the screen to come out of the vent. any help would be appreciated

Must also add mine does not have climate control just the old fashioned manual controls

ah, the diagnostics wont work then. Not sure Im afraid. As Mario says on other cars the resistor pack is a common culprit, but I have no idea about the setup of the Manual heater system on the z32, its very rare.

doesnt matter if it has climate control or manual, they all have a resistor pack fitted.
