Hey all

Its a well known fact that the lights are shi7e so I had my dipped beams changed for some HIDS. Although they are better its still poor.

So my question is do you generally drive with you high beams on, or dipped at night?

Do you get many people flashing you? I figured the cars are so low that even high beam would just appear as bright lights compared to modern headlights.

Cheers all

Ron

Being low has nothing to do with it. Maybe your headlights need adjusting or the projector bowls cleaning out.

I never use my main beam now. HID dipped seems to illuminate the road as good as.

Maybe I need to have a look at my lights then as they dont really seem to make much of an impact on the road.

Thanks Si

My HIDs are superb, one of the best mods i've done. I never use full beam anymore, as i have no need to. Not only are they a great practical upgrade, but give a fantastic modern look too :D

Got mine from DTA £99 to my door! 6000k :D

Not sure I got them off Jonno who bought them on a group buy on here, they are made by Hella and were a pretty standard kit as far as I could see.

Don't want to nick your thread mate but has anybody used or had any problems with dianeshop hids?

Cleaning the inside of the headlights makes a big difference on mine before I fitted the HID's. Now that I have the HID's and Clean headlights they make High beam obsolete and they are superior to just about all modern car headlights.

So when you say cleaning the inside are we talking a long cotton bud and some acetone? or lamps out and something more serious?

When i chromed my inserts i cleaned my headlights.

I took the headlights off the car, took them to peices and cleaned absolutely everything! I was stunned with how much dust and crap was in there! You can't really see until you wipe it away and look on the cloth  I even glass polished them inside and out :D

Makes a massive difference! :D

no mate the headlamps come out easily enough , however taking them apart with goosing them is something else , there is a sticky on free upgrades somewhere with cleaning headlights ....try a search , mate you will be surprised at the difference it makes

takes about an hour or two each side including the removal ..

Is it bumper off to get the headlamps out?

TBH i know alot of people think differently but i would'nt dream of trying to take headlights out with the bumper on. The last bolt is a royal PITA!

I can take my bumper off in like 20 mins anyway, so it makes no sense in my case to do it any differently. :)

Clean the lenses and/or get the lights professionally adjusted at an MOT station. It will make all the difference you need mate!

In fact when I replaced my left headlight with a brand new one following an accident, I cleaned the right one and that made one hell of a difference before I fitted HIDs!

Richard:)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
