does anyone know why my autobox would have power and hold lights on at the same time? if put in power mode it is just power light that comes on in normal mode no lights, and in hold both lights come on. when i start the car the power light sometimes flashes for 30 secs or so and at the moment it seems like it doesnt want to change up gears, when it finally does it gives you a big kick in the back very jerky, any advice would be much appreciated thanks guys and girls.:headvswal

Oreet chaps, just asking if anyone has a few exhaust mounts floating around, I need the 2 that attach to the flange on the end of the back box (not the rubber, the metal ones), and the two mounts that attach the end of the down pipes to the bracket on the back of the gear box (it's an auto).... Nissan (as per usual) want an extortionate amount of money for these mounts, so just thought I'd see if anybody had any knocking about.... Found a split water pipe that goes from the back of the engine down the left hand side under the Pheliumn (spell ckeck you know what I mean :tongue:) Finally pulled it apart from the back and front only to realise there is a branch off under the Pheliumn Do I have to remove the phel as its the only way I can see :( Bummer , any suggestions :headvswal:headvswal

anyone got this months banzai.. there is a really nice 180sx in it .. something i have been trying to get my head round tho is they have a similiar shape to the 300zx .. looking side on .. and the rear spoiler on it looks really good in my oppinion, but any of the spoilers like this that i have seen on z's look pap.. cant really figure it out.. only thing i can think of is that cos the z is bigger the spoiler looks silly :S

after 2nd gear failed in my autobox and converting to manual, what could i do with the old autobox do i scrap it or is it any use to anyone? think it was the brake bands that had gone?

Is this normal, as soon as i turn it off it settles to 1000rpm.

Just changed my windscreen My old tax disc holder was one of them metal ones with allen bolts in it I dont wana put it on my new screen as its pants! I remember that when I got my club pack it had a 300zx.co.uk holder in it. It was one of the £1 ones with the logo printed on it but still quite nice. Before I go and buy a £1 one from the shop has anyone got one of the club ones lying about?

Hi All, I know this is not a Z problem but it's in my Z so that counts I reckon :D I have a flip-front Kenwood head unit and it's playing up. When I start the car it goes to the normal play position and then it lights up in several different colours but no sound. It then opens as if you were going to insert a tape or remove the faceplate and just stays there. Anyone know about these things?. Cheers. CT.

The previous owner had no issues for 5 years, I buy it and im lucky if I can get a weeks trouble free motoring! My car is ticking over between 750 and 1500 (when cold & if I boot it hard) but normally sits at about 900. This only started a couple of days ago totally randomly. It use to sit at 750 all the time which is normal. Iv cleaned out my throttle bodies, cleaned all the relevant connectors and checked for loose wires. Iv fiddled with the EIC unit next to the throttle body but no luck there. Iv read the FAQ on Idling but what are we thinking??

My non turbo import z has had a replacement autobox fitted to it prior to me owning it,unsure if it was a re-con,but more likely to have been out of a breaker.I dont think the car was used since swap.(wonder why?...) Ive not used the car either,since I bought it, as the trans fliud is leaking onto the exhaust and i dont want to ruin the box until i get underneath and fix the leak.Dunno where its coming from,car too low to see,no time to check yet lol,I assume its a cooler pipe or pan gasket? Problem is,although oil level is ok,the oil colour is nice and clean, and the car shifts through the gears ok, there is an awful whine/whizzing noise from the trans,noise le…

Hi All, I'm wanting to get some advice about my exhaust set up . My car ;a TT with PE1420 Turbos,Dupree Seperated Wastegates and straight through twin exit exhausts. My question ; Should the exhausts be balanced /interconnected towards rear .Currently they are not. Seems to run just fine and even...What d'ya reckon? Cheers Rich

Just saw these on the Z-Centre web site and i think they look good. Anyone got them or used them?

...does any extra work need to be carried out to get them to fit in terms of the arches etc? im aiming for something like 285/30 on the rear and 245/35 on the front. could do with a bit more grip ;)
