A few friends bought an old Rover 213 when I was away in France last month...They chopped the roof off with an angel grinder and drove it round a field until the chassis gave up and snapped. Have always wanted to do this since I was a little kid when I had my first 'decent' car book named 'Famous Marques of Britain'. The book was full of hilarious 70s and 80s British Leyland cars which always used to make me laugh. Budget is about £50. I'm quite distraught actually, the only Lada Riva on ebay is up for about £300. Waaayyyyyyyy out of my price range and way to expensive for. There aren't even any Ladas for sale on Autotrader. What more, FSO aren't even liste…

Hi Guys Not content with just rebuilding my own car I stripped Ronnies Zed today to fit a timing belt to find one of the Idler bearings very nearly seized and the other two pretty noisy. I spotted numbers on the bearings so pressed them out only to find there in a special housing with no hard stop cut in. I don't fancy trying to line these up by eye, so where can I get a bearing kit and much is it gona cost?? Ta Craig

Just wanted to share my days worth of bitter disappointment with you! Went to see a 100nx today, was supposed to go to Warrington to view one but changed my mind last minute and went to Sunderland to view one instead. It sounded nice, when I got there it was an old couple, the guy said the car was sound. Looked round it to find a hole under the passenger front wheel arch near the suspension, i'm assuming it was the strut tower i was warned about, the clutch needs a slave cylinder, the drive shaft has gone/is going, it clunks alot, windscreen needs replacing as it leaks, one of the gas struts for the boot has gone, minor. He said it failed MOT in June cos it needed new s…

There's a nice article in this month's "Practical Classics" mag comparing the 300ZX (looks very similar to mine) to a Renault Alpine GTA V6 (p38). As I've never driven the GTA I don't know if the author is right when he he says he'll "take the Renault Alpine GTA, thank you very much" because his heart dominates his head, but I know which car looks the best! Any comments?

He's a decathalete if no one knew :nelson: Look like the Dean machine might be struggling for the European championships, managed to sustain a groin injury in his final training session  I'm not a huge fan of athletics but the man himself is pure class some of his interviews are worthy of a medal on there own. Quotes like... “I'd cut an arm off to win that gold medal. The pole vault would be difficult but that's a rubbish event for me anyway!” On finally winning a gold: "My dad nearly strangled me. I didn't want to cry and look like a jessie but I couldn't help it." "It's not been affecting my sleep - well, unless dreaming of baby mon…
