As it says, the estate agents want to thieve £3850 from me, for 3 adverts in a local paper + inserting an ad in their window + on rightmove.co.uk. Bear in mind, our last house sold in a week+ that was the last we saw of the estate agency. Then of course, the solicitors want £3700+ wont say thats all i need. Last time we moved, i was on the phone constantly, listening to 101 excuses, why so+so was waiting for this and that. Sooo. What am i paying for?,how can i pay less? who has done it all themselves??

I've just renewed the road tax on my Rav-4 and it came to the princley sum of £205....................... ....................it was "only" £190 last year - an increase of almost 8% and for what? The "privilege" to drive on pot-holed, un-repaired roads for another year; spied on by traffic cameras and that's all before filling the tank with a very expensive liquid that makes it go, from which our great rulers receive 80% of the proceeds  Born free, taxed to death :xxx: B@stards!! burnt a DVD on my laptop for the first time the other day using Nero. Dead easy so tried to burn another one last night. Left it to run last night as it takes a while and when i looked this morning it said the burn failed but strangely the DVD-RW drive was completly dead and did not seem to have any power going to it and couldnt eject the dvd without the pin in the hole method. Any idea what i have done? have i blown the DVD drive or something else? I have removed the drive and found a replacement on ebay for £40 (panasonic UJ-840) but I wouldnt want to get it and find out that it isnt the problem...........any ideas?

  THE TIMES - - Letter of the Year: A SENIOR MOMENT - (I PRAY TO GOD THAT I HAVE THEM LIKE THIS......) An elderly lady actually wrote this letter to her bank. The bank manager thought it amusing enough to have it published in The Times and this newspaper thanks him most sincerely. Dear Sir, I am writing to thank you for bouncing my cheque with which I endeavoured to pay my plumber last month. By my calculations, three 'nanoseconds' must have elapsed between his presenting the cheque and the arrival in my account of the funds needed to honour it. I refer, of course, to the automatic monthly deposit of my Pension, an arrangement which, I…
