Tomorrow will see the very last Sea Kings fly from RAF Lossiemouth and Leconfield, marking the begging of the end of yellow SAR. I won't get into the politics of it, it is important to remember that despite emotive and passionate grumblings from those who served and those that were saved, change was needed and is happening. We will have white helicopters in the future (2 days) but they will largeley be crewed by my friends and colleagues and hopefully by myself one day, perhaps even with me in the front seat. Anyway, today is my last 24 hours on D flt, we waved our goodbye to Scotland, got some decent cable out for the last time, dangling Scott round the back of…

It pains me to type this but ime feeling i need a Porche in my life....midlife thingy i dont know but ime after a sunday morning toy, ive always loved the 911 right back to the 80,s targa tops. I know we have some serious petrolheads in the house so ime after some ideas and thoughts bearing in mind i want something from the 911 stable and have a budget of around £20K...There are stipulations to your task, nothing with the word "Boxter" in it and "mutinity and should be a jap car".. I love my Zeds but i also love the Porche pedigree too:)

I booked my BMW in at Sytner in Nottingham for a full service and they told me the car was covered under the timing chain recall, so that work could be completed at the same time. This was potentially up to a 3 stage process, which mine needed the full work completing (tensioner, upper chain, lower chain) the latter which needs the engine removing from the car. I picked up the car after the work was complete, to find this deep scratch on the font bumper (I had checked the car over in the car park when I dropped it off for the work to be done and it definately wasn't there before) I was obviosly angry and brought this up with the guy who was dealing with m…

I know what you're thinking, it's a bloody smart car, yes it is but I've had the first model which was sh1t I admit, then I upgraded to the new 451 convertible it was great I loved it came with all the extras, so cheap to get around LONDON and parking was easy and tax per annum was £20 some are free depending on emissions. Was the perfect city nip around. I travelled from Liverpool to London with one full tank (£35) and had almost a quarter tank left Anyway id recently dropped my 300 for a respRayed but needed something to keep me entertained till its done so I thought I'd go the whole way and exchange mine for the 451 2009 brabus and boy was I impressed it's so nippy …

Drowning my troubles tonight people, 2 days before JAE my partner Bill was diagnosed with cancer, of course I did not want to go, but the measure of the man he is, ,he insisted, he even packed my bags. He was never going it was a girlie weekend. Those who met him at the LakeZ run will tell you what a great fella he is, he would have to be to handle me. Despite having been married for 27 years I was always really on my own, and besides my ex Bill is the only other man I have dated. So next week he goes in to have half his lung removed, nearly 20 years since he gave up smoking!!!, I am positive but its still a big operation. Also on Monday I go in to have an angiogram a…

I'm in that unenviable position of not having a garage so my poor Z has to live outside and be worked on outside (not fun). I've read on here and have spoken to people in the past who rent garages or units on industrial sites where they can store and work on their cars under the safety of a roof and locked door. My question is does anyone here know where I can find such a place that isn't going to cost a bomb to rent?

Looking for any suggestions or experience here folks. My Lad has a 2003 1.4 16v Golf. It has just snapped its 3rd NSF inner drive shaft. We bought it last June for him to learn in he passed his test in Ocotber and all was fine, we had the clutch changed in January at the same time it was noted the large gearbox mount had broken so this was replaced also. The Drive shaft broke in May while turning right. It then broke again about 100 miles later while turning right and it has just broken again 700 miles later while turning right. I cannot find anything obvious and neither can my (very trusted) mechanic. I have put a lot of work into this car for the lad and…

I have now had email confirmation that I have been ordained as a Reverend in the Humanist church..... Unfortunately, the UK government do not see this as a real religion, but it is still legal in the USA..... It cost me nothing, I am not religious, I do have beliefs, unfortunately Jedi master was unavailable...... so I joined the Humanist's..... I will be blessing Z's at JAE with my holy transmission fluid if anyone wants to join in? Our father Mr. K, Who art in heaven, Hollowed be my Cats, Thy Car show's come, Wheels shall be spun, on tarmac as well as asphalt. Give us this day our daily Z, And forgive us on the bypasses, As we forgive t…

You all have seen the crash by now and its another very sad day as the death toll rises. I'm not sure how many Hawker Hunter jets there are but I watched one last year at Newcastle Festival of flight and it is so nice to watch these old fighters in flight. I hope they dont ground them or restrict them to just a fly pass. RIP to all involved and my condolences to family and friends.
