General Discussions - Non 300ZX

I.m thinking of getting a land rover discovery as a replacement for my old fiat van, anyone had a discovery? not sure if to go petrol/LPG or diesel, the land rover will be the 1995 to 1998 ish model. So what should I look out for on these? Thanks.

Ok. i have been looking at a new 42-50" tv, got up to £800. Trouble is, one set looks great with plasma, then another looks better in lcd, or led form. I'm confused :wack: Whats should i be getting, or looking out for?

...a workmate of mine has decided he wants to save up for the kit and then built it himself. he reckons it costs £15k for the shell and (he thinks) all the other bits (!), then add the engine of your choice (which apparently is a small block Chevy engine at about £3k). he reckons 75% of the people who build their own Ultima have never built a car before and have done so successfully. i mean no disrespect to him but he is no mechanic or engineer. the fastest car he's owned is an FTO. im sure its just a pipe-dream for him (at 26 y/o) but he is very very argumentative! :headvswal

Are diesel turbos the same as petrol ones? I don't mean are they interchangeable, but do they work on the same principles? Do they have the same components etc?

Well it's happened, Button has signed with McLaren, making McLaren a British team with British Drivers, And of course they are BOTH World Champions. :). roll on 2010 season. just had a call from my boss, he told me that he had just been called out to one of the propertys as the the electric went out in a room, they have their own mains with a 30amp fuse for the sockets and a 5amp fuse for the lights, they work of a pound slot meter anyway, when he got there he was told that the tennant had got the electric back on and the problem was solved, my boss decided to look anyway, first he checked the 30amp fuse, it was wrapped i fookin tin foil, they had repaired a catridge fuse by wrapping the fooker in tinfoil he then (once he removed the tinfoil) looked for the fault, they had two double socket adapters in a double socket with triple ex…

As most of you know i have been breaking up a car and as i am really busy i have been getting my dad to box up and post my stuff which is jolly nice of tje old fellow :) So gave him my account details to parcel2go and showed him how to do it....easy yes? As above, I`m really Pissed off as i am self employed and wasted a day off work with no money earned. They said they would turn up between 8am-12.30 for a 3 hr job, so i got up, put the cars on the road, took the roof off my car port(they needed it off to get the ladders through to reach the top side of the house) and waited till 12.40 ,I rang the main office and they said they would get the Warrington branch to phone me 1 hr before they arrive!! 3pm still no show or phoe call!!, i rang again and eventually got through to my local warrington branch, they said the machine broke down a wont be doing it today!! Hi, I'm looking at taking the Zed off the road for the winter while I sort my suspension out, and buying an old Audi Coupe. I can't find any decent reviews of these online, which is really weird, and I've been unable to find any MPG information for each of the engines, can anyone point me in the right direction? Also, what would be the likely cause of the dashboard guages failing (fuel, temp & speedo), as I'm looking at a cheap one on ebay with this issue & was wondering if it was an easy fix? Hi guys. Right well as you all know im scrapping the car. But the plate on it i think will be worth abit of money aswell, MIL 5429. So im wondering, how do i get this off the car and keep it in retention for mysefl to then sell on? The car has not mot no tax and no insurance and i havent sent the v5 away to say its being scrapped yet, so can i still get the plate off the car and if i can how?

Ok I am annoyed to say the least, I was buying O2 sensors from Craig, fist thing he tells me is someone else bought them from another forum (should at least say stuff is advertised elsewhere). Then comes back to me saying I can have them. I ask for his paypal adress to pay him, and because I have not been able to log on for a day as I have been away he sold them to Jay. IMO this is a terrible thing to do to anyone buying anything, at least wait until they have logged in or at least read the message especially if you have already messed them about.
