So, a long overdue post, sorry. Redundancy, change of job, impending house move, first time grandparents, daughter buying house, all seem to have side tracked me away from here. Sold my zeds last year, as some of you would have seen at the time, and more recent ads appearing. Was sad to see them go, but there was good reason behind it. We were weeks away from moving house, and they were sold to fund some much needed work at the new place. I had my blue zed (ex AndyP) Nikk had a purple zed, which had some turbo issues from when it was built and the builder disappeared before fixing. We had the green zed (ex TonyB). As i needed t…

Where do i start ? Just as covid hit it became apparent that we had drainage and settlement issues with our property in Troon. The front of the house decided that it would detach partially from the rest of the house and due to a cracked underground pipe and extensive cracking throughout the property we proceeded to get the insurance involved to get it sorted out. Insurance was covered and the exterior and interior of the building is to get fully decorated as well as the external brick work stitched back together. All happening at the same time we have external render to get done, dampness inside to be fixed, cracked covin…

Last Sunday the wife and I ran the Eastbourne half marathon. It was her 3rd or 4th time running that kind of distance and my first! She came into the living one day last summer while I was reclining on the sofa stuffing myself with something unhealthy. She announced that she had signed up for the EB half marathon, I said well done, you can do it and other assorted confidence building phrases. As she walked out the room, over her shoulder she said "Ive signed you up too". Bugger. Cut forward several months of parkruns (5km), running to, then doing, then running back from parkruns (16km) and training along the south downs with hills (5-15km), we (more so me) were …

So after using the wifes Audi TT throughout the pandemic to go to work, I've decided to buy myself a run around as she is going back to working in the office and I fancied my own little run around: It's a Subaru Legacy 2.5L Boxer engine with AWD and a hi-low gear centre diff. It's done 171K, serviced every year by Subaru up to 4 years ago, then by a private garage. I'm the 3rd owner. The bodywork and boot interior is a bit tatty as its was tip run car/dog car, but I gave it a really good clean and polish and some of the damage has disappeared. It came with the roof bars and tow bar, so that's helpful and saved about £300. I'll probably never need them, but good…

I drove past someone the other day who had like an oil sucker for his car. He had it inserted into the oil top-up inlet and as he pumped away it sucked the oil out of his engine, seemed quite effective for doing your own services. I have been looking on the net to find one but cant was wondering if any u guys know of them?

Anyone use the Esso app to pay for their fuel....? I have been using it for some time now - and generally it's been pretty good. Until today that is - seems they have updated the app so it's only available to i-Phone users. What a disgrace ☹️ Sure the website still says it's available for both Android and i-Phone - but when you click to download the so-called latest version, it's i-Phone only. And the old version has stopped working...... Bad show Esso - especially as we're still in Covid-conscious times. I'd much rather pay safely online from my car, than go into the kiosk. Get it sorted Esso?
