I had an old advent laptop that went screwy so reinstalled vista then the laptop would randomly just turn off half way through installation well its been sitting on a shelf for months so thought id have one more go before i throw it away, well its exepted windows now. BUT its getting to the login screen and shows an account called "other" and its asking for a username and password anyone ever come across this as ive tried all my usual login details and any windows admin defaults i know. any ideas, or do i have to try and hack vista lol. cheers Craig

To the gods of the 300zx forum (or Pete :smartass:): Sometimes I get this error when I try to Preview a post: Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing. If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.

I've had my tv connected to my pc for a while via a HDMI lead but sometimes things I play on media player or VLC won't appear on my TV. I have the setting on my PC as "the same on both displays (clone)" and it will play on my pc screen but not on my TV. Any ideas? Cheers Vijay

My missus was in a nasty crash a week ago & her Audi A4 was a complete write off (somone drove straight into the rear & shunted her into the car in front) :censored: Have just bought a nice Golf that come in as a cheap trade in! :clap: Its a 2.0 GT TDI - drives really well! I have a large garage with a metal roof. The roof came of a factory so its not the cheap stuff from B&Q. Thing is I think it did not like the snow. What would be best to paint over it. All my bits are somewhere in a 880lb huge crate "misplaced" somewhere in the UPS network :no:. Apparantly 6 lots of goods ship as one load by air from the US. Only two bits of that load turned up without paperwork in heathrow so they cant tell me anything :no: Not sure if they are in the US, Europe, or somewhere at Heathrow. Or mine might be one of the two that made it to heathrow :rockon:. They cant tell me as they cant get any paperwork as its with the rest of it or something. OMFG my luck stinks, I am not a relegious man but will be saying a prayer tonight. :blink:

hi guys Need some help from all you PC geniuses.. went back to my pc and it was showing some disk write errors..pc was frozen so i hard booted but the pc would not come back, keept saying NTDETECT error...etc... stuck a boot disk in, went into recovery console and did a chkdsk c: /f. Windows came back but the WHOLE Docs and settings of eveyones profile was GONE!!, not renamed or moved, Gone!! Could live with it except its got all my wifes invoices ready for the end of tax year submission this sunday...Dam!!! Any ideas any one as to what went wrong and can i recover any thing.. had a call from the police detectives today asking about the attempted arson at one of the properties on monday night, tottaly shocked as it was the first i had heard of it, went straight round to the property to have a disscusion with CID, turns out someone had put a lighter fluid canister and a wd40 canister in the oven and turned it on then left the building, got asked the usual if we had had any bother with any tennants (which we have) and they took statements from everyone and us (me and my boss), anyhoo's came back a few hours later and arrested one of our tennants for attempted arson its lucky we have 10p slot meters in the kitchen, it had ran out before the c…

Sometimes as low as 1 meg :crying: ) Anyway - ordered one of these (free if your a BT broadband customer - you just pay P&P charges of £1.20) Tested before fitting - 1.4meg :thumbdown: After fitting 2.8meg :thumbup: It says to allow upto 48hrs for increase in speed. Just tested now - 5.5meg!!!! :drool::thumbup1: Well surprised!! Just thought I would share! :)

As some of you may already know, my son is really into drifting and owns an s14. well on saturday we got up at 3am and drove to norfolk arena for his first drift day. was a great day and of course i had a fair few goes as well. was really suprised at how well he did. by the end of the day, in the dry he could drift the whole track.:rockon:. especially suprised as he has never really driven a car before apart from an experiance at brands.
