General Discussions - Non 300ZX

Just received the papers, and the car is arriving on the 27th of this month :D The chassis number is WELL low :eek: GZ32 - 000003* Roll on the 27th then :D

I was just putting my throttle cover back on after looking if I had that adjustable screw or not and noticed an injector connector that was looking a little dirty. I'll take that off and give a quick clean, I thought. So a wiggle later and the wire has snapped clean off........bollox. No Z for me tonight. Eric.......this is all your fault and I'm holding you personally responsible. LoL......well, just about lauging. :rolleyes:

Just a quick note to say I have added a lot more detail on this section of my web site. Including all the wire colours on both pre & post '95 models (ABS sensors are slightly different colours). For those of you who bought TC in the group buy recently, this may prove to be very useful. If you think that something is missing or I need to detail something even more, please give me a shout, I'm always looking to improve the site to help others.

Now, a bit of background - since my Zed arrived a few months ago, it's always had a tinkling noise when the clutch has been pressed. Several people said it was the release bearing gone and advised a new clutch was in order :( So off I go, ordered a RPS clutch from Smithy, and dropped the Zed off with MJP yesterday.... Just had a call from Mike, and it turns out that having taken the gearbox apart, his mechanic has discovered a HKS twin plate clutch with flywheel !! :eek: :eek: :D Mike says the tinkling sound is a trait of these clutches, and having never driven another Zed didn't realise how on/off my clutch actually was - just thought it was me gettin…

Just a quick pic for anyone wondering about the contrast effect on silver/ grey zeds after fitting the silver film inside the headlights, must admit I was more than impressed , I think it looks BETTER than on the darker colours like mine....doh! Jeff TT

Having seen a few zeds in the workshop withe 99 spec bumper on thought I must have one, impressed with the quality (nissan) but not the mesh supplied with it which was only about 1 cm bigger than the middle opening! made for some tricky fixing. Jeff TT

Shit! I've got to go out and buy a new keyboard now! I was on the computer drinking a cup of coffee when my cat launched himself onto my shoulder from behind me... Result...Half a cup of coffee over the keyboard :eek: ;) Now all the keys are getting sticky, won't be long now till the keys start jamming and sticking down! LOL ;)

Evenink all. I'm planning to buy an old (possibly knackered) classic car for Question is - what do we buy? I've had suggestions of a Mini, Triumph Spitfire, Ford Cortina and a few others... Obviously parts have to be obtainable, but I want a car with some rarity. Contradiction in terms I know :D . Any suggestions? Like I said, we only wanna spend up to £200ish on the vehicle itself, obviously it'll cost more as we fix it up, respray etc but thats our budgeted outlay for the car itself. It was all done in the best possible taste and he mentioned I might get an look at your zed when I pop over there later (?) - Don't suppose I'd be able to miss it! :)

I twas just wondering if it was on this board that someone was mentioning that they are building a v.fast 300zx and calling it "Project ZX"? maybe for TOTB2? cant seem to find it using search but im sure someone mentioned it, anyway.... I just remebered i registerd the webname "www.project-zx.com" about 1 year ago!! so if these guys want to get in contact with me : timthedesigner@aol.com i could re-direct it to their webspace , as i aint using it it would be a shame for it to go to waste. What a day! With Zedworld, racing, speeding and everything else I forgot I was offered the job I went to three interviews for :D I should be getting a proper job offer on Friday :D No more contracting for me! :D:D It was a very eventful day. Including babysitting a fellow Zedder back from Zedworld after he blew an oil seal and lost a cylinder. I followed him all the way back and his lovely Zed was being a bit poorly and I couldn't see (or breathe) for oil smoke :eek: Still made some good photos ;) I'll try to get him on here to join all us lovely lot ;) I'll get some piccies up soon.

Heh I was driving past one of the amusement arcades down here and I spotted a rather fetching cabinet dumped outside, so I blagged it and am going to build a MAME arcade machine to go with my two pinballs: Im going to install my spare IIyama 22" widescreen SVGA and install a Athlon PC in the base of the cabinet. Then im going to put in my X-Arcade mame controller I bought off Ebay: I have all 4000 odd roms so ill bang them on a 10 gig hard disk in the cabinet and hey presto - every arcade game ever made in one machine ! It'll be wicked:)
