Not going to be able to have day after day of working on my car, but I can get some time in every now and then. Many people dont know that my Z is high mileage. Currently over 163,000 miles, and the engine is still very strong, however the body is not. Years of jack damage has left some parts of the body exsposed to the salty roads and it has taked its toll. My MOT is due in about a months time and I know that it wasnt going to pass in the state it's in now, so I decided to make a start on repairing the parts I know it will fail on. To start off, the drivers side sill had a hole you could get your hand in, and there is rust in the engine bay which needs sorting out, b…

Whilst driving North on M1, (J12-13@70mph), I suddenly smell coolant and the temp rises from 50% to 90% full scale. I quickly, and safely, pull over onto the hard shoulder and roll to a stop. Temp drops to 75% full scale but I switch off anyway. Pop the bonnet and the place is covered in coolant. I call the RAC who arrive in 30 mins and clearly they cannot do anything, its not the top hose and so we recon it the bottom hose. They call out a flat bed and get me home. So I check out the bottom hose and its OK so it rad out time. Well this is the first time for me and it took 1 hour - I recon it should be a 15 minute job next time. So what was wrong? Compare the two pic…

I gave Macca a lift to collect his Z from GPS last night and called at Mr Duffs afterwards. On the way back in convoy along the A59 we managed to hit half the UK's wildlife  Score:- Moths: 30 ish Bats: 1 Rabbits: 1 Cats: 1 Badgers: 2 (Only 1 but we both ran over it!) And I only just fixed my Pug 206 after hitting a Deer a month or 2 ago :(

Hey everyone, just thought I`d make my official introductions to the forum after several months of accomplished lurking, as I`ve finally got my Z! Picked her up three weeks ago (`91, manual, TT, silver, imported with Newera who I`d highly recommend) and I can honestly say that I`ve NEVER enjoyed driving as much as I am now. I was lucky in that she came with an aftermarket exhaust system (with a single exit pipe that is unfeasibly large and which makes enough noise to worry old ladies and scare small children), lowered suspension (my hatred of speed bumps has reached new and exciting heights), a rear strut brace (practical, yet shiny...), 17" alloys and lea…

Coming back from Coventry today down the M6, finally got a bit of open road between road works and speed cameras so i give it big licks down the fast lane. After about 2 miles i come upto 3 cars one in each lane and all doing the same bloody speed!!!!about 60mph. I don't like flashing so i decide to just wait and see if one finally manages to find their accelerator pedal and use it. After going past 2 junctions and now having a tail back behind me bigger than King Kongs first dump of the day, i flash and tell them to move over. The old bast*rd in the outer car looks over and calls me a ****er!I just about held myself back from a bit of road rage, so the question i'm wonde…

The garage think the wiring loom has been damaged along the way. They did warn me this may happen but not very often-looks like I have severe bad luck with this Zed!!!!!! Approx cost of wiring loom in engine bay guys????????? Arse!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ever gone past a camera and think you were flashed ?. It's a bit nerve racking waiting to see if you get a ticket though isn;t it. No you can check whether the camera got you or not. It also lets you have access to your old speeding offenses (if they were caught by Gatso). http://i-connect.co.uk/speedoffence/ Use the username guest and guest again as the password.
