At New York's Kennedy airport today, an individual later discovered to be a public school teacher was arrested trying to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, protractor, setsquare, slide rule and calculator. At a morning press conference, Attorney General John Ashcroft said he believes the man is a member of the notorious al-gebra movement. He is being charged by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction. "Al-gebra is a fearsome cult," Ashcroft said. "They desire average solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in a search of absolute value. They use secret code names like "x" and "y" and refer to themselves as "unknowns…

Sometime in the not too distant past I offered translation for the Jap writing on the sun visor; but made the mistake of putting my home telephone No as contact, with some quite amusing but nevertheless misguided remarks.I do have the genuine translation,as supplied by a Nippon friend of mine at work.If there is any GENUINE interest I will put it on my web page for viewing. ...and the car was parked at the time as well. Oh well rather than have to explain this to everyone on MSN etc. Here are the details: I was parked outside the bank tonight standing in the queue waiting for the cash machine (engine off, but sidelights still on). Was looking at my car thinking I really need give it a good wash on Saturday before the Essex meet, when a ........ yep you guessed it Ford Transit Van (not white funny enough). Decided he also wanted to get some money out... but rather than just parking in front of me, he decided to take a section of my car with him on the way as he pulled in. I was a little angry to say the least but a w…

Just spent an hour "soak testing" or that's what I told the boss. Everything does what it says on the can, the garage fixed all the problems and now she flies. All the gauges move in the right direction, apart from the fuel one which seems to go down rapidly. I think it might be linked in someway to the yellow power light. :p Thanks for putting up with me whilst I was car-less. Ohh one question - are JapSpec and UKspec wiper blades the same? I think she would benefit from a new one...   I got my car back

Haven't been on much recently so this may of been mentioned before. I was speaking to Luke at the Z Centre the other day and he said 3 wide arch Z's were over from Ireland and they call themselves "Steer from the rear". They appear at shows doing doughnuts etc. They have custom paint jobs etc. Luke said they were due to be filmed this week and he said on Top Gear this sunday but that seems a little soon to me. Anyway, I will be checking and I thought I'd tell you lot too.

Once: upon a time, a perfect man and a perfect woman met. After a perfect courtship, they had a perfect wedding. Their life together was, of course, perfect. One snowy, stormy Christmas Eve, this perfect couple was driving their perfect car along a winding road, when they noticed someone at the side of the road in distress. Being the perfect couple, they stopped to help. There stood Santa Claus with a huge bundle of toys. Not wanting to disappoint any children on the eve of Christmas, the perfect couple loaded Santa and his toys into their vehicle. Soon they were driving along delivering the toys. Unfortunately, the driving conditions deteriorated and the pe…

Just an idea, If everyone on the forum who has a website with zed related files (even if it's your free space from your ISP), were to post a link with a decription of the file contents, then we could build a comprehensive link page for all things zed related. Things we could consider would be... photos (rides and 'how-tos' etc, scanned mag articles etc) video clips text files (even home written ones if they're helpful) The secret to the success would be the filing a search system, but I'm sure there are web-resources out there? I wouldn't mind betting that we have a lot of the same files clogging up our hard drives and not available to the re…

I guess the boss has relented and forgiven me as she bought me a copy of Autocar and Motor from May 1990 which had their initial road test for the Nissan 300ZX. For: Brawny performance, presence, good dry road grip, price Against: Excessive tyre roar, poor wet road grip, economy. It sums up to say: "The 300ZX is not a car of subtle charms or lights hidden beneath thick bushels. It lets the driver enjoy its high tech hardare, but, when you get right down to it, it is an up-front old fashioned bruiser which begs to be driven hard and fast as often as possible." Well that says it all. Hasn't it aged well?

  24. A Scooby WRX driver mate of mine is about to order some water spray jets for spraying water onto his intercooler (seems the STi's have this as standard). There's an Australian company that they source their jets from that charge just $18 Aus. That's just the jets, of course; you need to get pipework and a reservoir bottle, plus we'd need 2 kits I guess  Has anybody tried water sprays, preferably fitting the reservoir in the boot ? Figured there's no room under our bonnets, and the water would be cooler if the reservoir were in the boot anyway! Guess it's got to be good for when you're stuck in traffic in the summer, if nothing else ?
