I was looking at the JWT 500 Sport turbos. As far as I know they are the stock ones which have had the internals improved. Am I right? Anyway these where going to cost me over a grand for the turbos, which is acceptable but not exactly cheap. However! I have been given a phone number of some one in the UK who rebuilds turbos. I phoned him and he knows what he is talking about. He knew what turbos where on a 300ZX anyway and said that I would need new oil feeder lines. Anyway, to rebuild my turbos with 360 Degree BB, Air Cooled and Step Gaps (Or could be Stop Gaps) works out to be £400 cheaper than the JWT and that is before I add any tax and shipping o…

As always with the usual suspects it was an excellent day. I met up with Stuart/cerina and James300 @ lakeside services at around 6:30am and headed up the A13/M25/M40, Onto the M40 services, Baggins complimented me highly on my choice of coat, offered me £100 to purchase it, and then had a little cry with herman that they couldnt take it home for that price. Stuart filled up with oil, around 3litres and we set off up the M40 at normalish speeds, saw 2 BMW's pulled over by the rozzers and was undertaken twice by the same undercover police car (twat). Finding Thor was a bit of a chore (haha I'm a poet), we circled the same roads countless times, me, james, smw1,…

Myself and a couple of friends are thinking about setting up a Japanese car club for Yorkshire Jap car owners. We're not sure how popular a club like this might be as yet so wanting to get some feedback from as many owners as possible. We would obviously have a website, with a forum and possibly a chat room, there would be an optional membership fee should you choose to join the club as well which would include benefits such as, free club stickers, discounts (Once we have negotiated such discounts) with tuners and accessory dealers in the Yorkshire area, track days (Both track and drag strip) and also attending car shows throughout the year with our own stand. Obviously t…

Yay! First one was a black 2+2 with a meaty-lookin spoiler and a bashed-in looking driver's side rear quarter panel, parked up outside the bike showroom on the A6 out of Matlock (towards Buxton, that side). Looked really scruffy, but I guess that's just winter dirt ;) Spoiler was nice, anyway :D Second one was red, coming *into* Matlock Bath from the other side, about halfway from the A610, at the bit where the road crosses the river and comes past that big Inn. That must've been about 3:15pm. Looked dirty, but *nice* :) Passed it too fast to see any details of spec or cosmetic mods, though :S Me? Heh, I was in a white Pug Boxer hi-top LWB, you wouldn't have not…

Two ship captains were sitting at the bar one night getting good and lit when one turned to the other and said, "You know what gets me, though, is these damn sailors! Oh sure, they're fine for the first few weeks, but on those three-month trips at sea they start getting pretty hard up. With all the whacking off going on, it's a wonder any work is getting done, and it's making a mess all over the ship. I don't know what to do!" The other captain smiles knowingly at his companion. "Oldest trick in the book. You take the crew and divide them into two teams. Then you buy about 50 barrels and put them on the ship. You tell the crew that the team that fills the most b…

Just been to Argos to buy a birthday pressie. Noticed thy are selling DVD players for £30! How the feck can you sell a DVD player for £30. Not interested in the marketing side i.e. loss leader blah , blah, they'll be making a buck, or the low pay economy China , Taiwan thing (thats another debate)more the engineering thing. I can just about imagine the electronic passive components costing feck all, the semiconductors bit more, the mechanical bits a bit more but I just can't concieve putting it all together and everyone involved making money, they must be or they wouldn't do it. I know the answer is all about volumes but anyone got some numbers to explain this?

Why are these never discussed here? I know Smithy was thinking about these a little while ago, bu does anyone on here already have them? They are supposed to make a big difference to spool up, and would make sense to fit while working in the gearbox area. Or along the same lines has anyone even tried pre-cat gutting - cheap, chearful (although messy) alternative ;) Just fancied getting some opinions and a discussion going... PS If everyone wants to put a kitty together for some Greg Dupree split downpipes I will happily provide my Zed as a test car and report my findings back to the forum :hyper: ;) ;)

Filled up the car on Monday with Opti' as usual, full to the top! However, a couple of times this week, I have opted to go to work the slightly longer way, which as it stands, happens to be the motorway which is normally has faster traffis than the A road I use. However, like some of you, I know how many miles to expect at each quarter point of the fuel gauge. For me, it's around 50 at the 3/4 mark and 121 at the 1/2 way mark. Since doing these journeys, I had clocked nearly 60 miles at 3/4 and 147 at the 1/2 way mark. So, it goes to show that on the right road, the Z can be easy'ER, on your pocket! Just thought I'd share that ya'. ;) Cos
