Cleaned the AIV valves, Throttle bodies, cleaned tps, reset ecu and put some injector cleaner in the zed on saturday, I still havn't got round to fitting grounding kit but the zed is running better than ever :), Its a lot nicer when you do these things yourself, it took about an hour to clean the TB's, it was a bit worrying on startup, had a rougher idle than what you would expect with 2000cc injectors :D, also a lot of smoke, but i did get trough a can of carb cleaner.... Will the engine idle at 1000 RPM until it has gone out of learning mode or do I need to readjust the TPS? Next weekend Im going to fully strip out the AIV's for proper cleaning as there is st…

HI all, just a warning for anyone either buying a ZX from a dealer with a warranty or buying a warranty for their ZX.... Warranty Holdings, the largest warranty company in the UK, has just gone into voluntary administration. I read this in a trade mag from my mates garage. However they are still saying that (as new insurance underwriters are involved) they will still settle all valid claims from existing policy holders. We shall see...... They are hoping to be sold as a going concern, though. I'll watch with interest as mine only has 3 months left, so I'll consider carefully whether it is worth renewing  Richard :)

On the recommendation of this forum  bought some yesterday. Blo*dy Brilliant Stuff ! The Zed hasn't ever looked so good. (Doesn't show very well, but that's cos it's shining sooo much! and my digi camera is also sh*te) If you have some, I'd recommend following the instructions and spraying it with water and giving it a final polish, makes it really even. Buy some!

I have searched this thing but all it will come up with is matches for 'spoiler'. Someone has posted pictures of their spoiler removal, I'm sure. I'm going to trawl the rides, as I am thinking of doing it and I wanted to see what was involved. Maybe get it done by the blokes who sorted my accident damage as they did a good job.

Got my new exhaust fitted today and the cats replaced with de-cat pipes. Very noisy- but now the car's 'proper' not just stock. The guy said it would get a bit quieter after it had been run in a bit. Ok, it might not be big and brash, but I liked it- not too overpowering and still with twin exits. Now I can change my sig to actually include a 'mod'- woo hoo!!

  20. When I bought my 300ZX, my girlfriend and mates all pissed themselves as the mats say 'Fairlady'. So I've banned the word from the house (but no-one listens). Anyone else feel the same? Or know how to get rid of the 'F*******' tag from the original interior mats without ruining them.

I walked along to the import dealer up the road at dinnertime today and was sad to see a state of a zed up for £4300. It was (once) pearl yellow, but was faded and streaky. The back panel was cracked, inside was worn - 109k km on the clock- looked more like it could have done 109k miles or more. The panel trims were cracked, it had two BBS alloys or something on the back, and two standards on the front. No gear knob, bad window tints. It looked really bad- just wonder if they will ever get someone to buy it. OK, the engine could run beautifully. But I doubt it.
