...with nothing more than a new headlight bulb needed. Wouldn't care but I checked all the lights on Sunday! Mind I should hope it passed with the money I've spent this week! Timing belt kit, full service, new plugs and Jocks old aircon compressor fitted on Monday. Two new Toyo Proxes on the back yesterday. Gonna try to get aircon re-gassed at the weekend. if that works then its all set for summer! Just the speed sensor, throttle bodies, TPS, body work and interior to worry about now! David

Thanks Sideshowbob for putting me in touch with Brad in Wantage, he's a top bloke. So refreshing to finally get someone who knows what they are talking about to take a look at my poorly Zed. I currently have two mechanics on my hit list- the 1st stung me for £450 for fixing a poxy water hose and the 2nd told me that my air-con unit was causing the birdy squeak so purchased a 2nd hand unit for £80. Luckily Brad took a look today and informed me that my alternater belt was shredded and was causing the birdy squeak and would be lucky if it lasted a few more miles- that would have been a great breakdown on the M4 eh! Now this has been done, the Zed is quiet …

Sideshowbob- got me propshaft bearing winging its way over from the States this week. Did you get Brad to fit yours or did you have a bash at it yourself? I was thinking of having a go myself as I am now a bit short of dosh. But I guess you got to get the car up quite high to get under it. What do ya think- easy job? I've got a mate whos got a pit in his garage so that may be an option. Got all the gear to do a service as well + my EGR valve is suspect so I chucked that in the basket as well for good measure. Is that easy to fit? As always- advice for a newbie most gratefully accepted Cheers AL

So let's just say for the sake of it that the 300 was never conceived, what other jap car would you buy? Forget about money here, more of a fantasy Jap car league if you like. Although we own Z's I'm sure we would want a whole stable yard full like the Sultan of Brunei! LOL Hmmm, which one will I drive today to Spar for a pint of milk and some fags (Mike Groves would be going for fags, anyone else just the pint of milk LMFAO) ;) :)

  17. I was speaking to friends last week about how the mirror publishing these pictures. IMO the best recruitment campain Al Queda have ever run. This poor yank fell is just the first of many more that will follow. Don't get me wrong I don't think these fudamentalist have become so because of the Mirror but, the mirror stories have gone all round the world enthusing Islamic extremeists to rally for the Jahad. Look we don't allow publication of extreme literature or imagery of white religious or political groups. We have laws to put people in prison who do. Even if what they say is true, because of its power to insight bigoted attacks so why has this newspaper been allowe…

There is an article in the paper today about depresiation (is that how you spell it? ) They took car prices new and then what they sold for 6 months later. The 350Z was the best with 0% loss.

I have a dilema, Ive persuaded my dad to get rid of his faithful rover and treat himself to a Jag as at 64 he needs an auto gearbox. I told him id need £6 to £7k plus his rover so i think i have upto £8.5k to spend, could possibly push him to £10k. Bear in mind that i will get to drive it i want the best, ie fastest!!!, i can find. Ive discovered that the XJR was a supercharged 4.0 V6 untill 1998 when they used the V8 instead. With the budget i have i will struggle to get a 1998 model XJR so may have to settle for the V6, but could manage to get a normal XJ8 but id like the fastest i can find. Does anyone know if the V8 is meant to be alot better …
