Finally replacing the Z with a Maserati (I'm hooked on twin turbo's)but can't bear the thought of selling the Z because it's such a great car (mint '96 TT manual) So.......Thinking of "retiring" the Z permanently to my house in Spain but it will only do about 1000 miles a year and will sit sometimes for 6 months unused on my drive there. I'm worried it won't like this treatment much and will end up ruined? How will it put up with long periods unused? Any ideas?

OK, here's a silly teenage question I'm having an argument about here...what's the hardest town / city in the UK? We've got votes for Stoke on Trent, Wisbeach, Merthyr Tyddvill (?sp), Portsmouth and Glasgow here so far. I would point out hardness is not my 'specialist subject'. I'd be about as good in a scrap as a wet tea towel.

Went to tyre depot today for 4x eagle F1's. Bloke says, why have you got 245's on the rear? I said UK spec's have got 245's. He measured my wheels, and they were all 6.5 width! OK for 225's. When I bought the car, chap had 245's on them. The wheels are BBS 16 inch, with Nissan stamped on them. Must be off some Jpec from somewhere, never seen another Zed with them on. Reckon I was at risk with them coming off or anything? Ah well, putting the UK specs back on tomorrow. Anyone want a set of J Spec BBS 16 inch alloy whells (one rear has slight buckle) for postage and a pickled egg?

Have a zed in the workshop at the moment that had some unusual faults concidering where it had come from. The owner had a water loss diagnosed by his local garage as a head gasket failure A price to repair (£1,800) ish was quoted and work went ahead. However after 2 months the garage still had not completed and when the owner complained they admitted defeat having repaired the gaskets etc they were unable to get the car started despite their best technicians efforts. At this point they agreed to transport the zed to us and not charge the customer any money provided they did not have to see the car again ( fair enough) The faults found were as follow …

And another thread stolen from another forum ;) Childless couple told to try sex A German couple who went to a fertility clinic after eight years of marriage have found out why they are still childless - they weren't having sex. The University Clinic of Lubek said they had never heard of a case like it after examining the couple who went to see them last month for fertility tests. Doctors subjected them to a series of examinations and found they were both apparently fertile, and should have had no trouble conceiving. A clinic spokesman said: "When we asked them how often they had had sex, they looked blank, and said: "What do you mean?". "We…

As some of you know I had my first shot at a drag strip on Sunday. Queuing up to go on I felt fine, about 5 cars from the front I started to get a little nervous as I was next to an AC Cobra (which may I add sounded the nuts). 2 cars to go the adrenaline was building up.. I could feel it in my chest and my arms. Now it's my turn, I entered the burnout strip and dumped the clutch at 5krpm and spun the tyres up to the start line. My legs are now going through a "Shakin Stevens" session. I'm at the line the white lights tell me I'm good to go. 3,500rpm clutch at biting point…. Handbrake on with button depressed for release… Next thing I know is the green ligh…

I know there are some bike freaks on here, and I thought it might be a good place to start, although not zed related: I am looking for a first bike (motor not push :)) but I don't want to look like a granny on a hairdrier. Any suggestions for what a should go for to get through a test and not look totally stupid, or is it just not possible. Any good sites I should look at? I've never even been on a bike before, but want to pass the test as quick as possible. Any advice appreciated.

Hello everyone, I'm Rick, I work at Santa Pod Raceway, I have met a few of you before, and what a lovely bunch you are! I have just registered on this forum because I want a bit of buying advice on 300 zx's. We are thinking of buying one as a show car to take to shows/cruises/meets to promote our japanese car events, and I think a 300zx would be the best looking Japanese car available for around £3,000. We will be doing it up a bit cosmeticlly, but would rather not have to muck around with mechanicals, so what should I look out for when buying a 300zx in this price range? Is there a choice of engine/gearbox that you would reccommend for reliability? Are there any dea…

A couple of people asked me to post up pics of my Navan auto shifter fitted. So I have........... Was a doddle to fit, 30 mins maybe. Didn't have to cut the wires either like someone suggested as I had the whole surround still attached to the Navan so just unplugged it. One thing is it looks like it sits higher than stock - but its just an illusion. Would like it shorter though.

Hi fellas Im considering going straight pipes from the downpipes back, to cut out them center mufflers on the drager thats on there and get some louder cans on the back. Currently if got Z-Centre downpipes on and a super drager catback on, but it sounds too refined for what i want, could do with it a bit louder. anyways, i was wondering if anyone else had this kinda setup and perhaps even some sounds? dont want it TOO loud, but at the moment its barely louder than stock :( No point having a great sounding orchestra under the hood if you cant hear it Thanks

Reading the paper today at the cafe (double bacon and egg sandwich , if you must know ) and read the story of a young guy who got stabbed and kicked to death over a fender bender. Now I know how angry I get behind the wheel, and how frustrated we all get when someone damages our cars, but has it really got to the stage where someone gets killed because of a prang? I dont understand the mentality of someone who would do that.

Bit of a cheeky post, so apologies. :D I'm setting up my home office at the moment and I'm after an 18 port Cat 5 patch panel (rack mount) for RJ45 connectors. As the cost of everything seems to be escallating I was wondering if any of you IT people had one under their desk that they don't need anymore. I'll happily pay for postage, but my funds are running very low at the moment! If you can help please post here or email me off list at: tim@red-zed.com Thanks everyone Tim
