Hey guys, I'm trying to organise a weekend away for my wife's birthday (major milestone). The plan is to rent her favourite car - a red Mazda MX-5 - and drive down to France for a weekend of great driving, fine food and whatever else ... ;) I've found only one place so far who have an MX-5 for rent at a reasonable price (£175 for the weekend) but it is a '91 black 1.6 model. The one I'm after is a red, late model 1.8 version. I know I'm setting myself up for a big problem as she will no doubt want to go out and buy one the day after we return it but I'll cross that bridge when we get there. I've tried the likes of Enterprise, Hertz, etc but they (a) charge upwar…

...I'm sure you know the ones I mean. Can you still buy them? They probably are not longer legal, I used to remember when the first grey imports used to appear up round Bristol, some 10 years ago, and most of them came with these plates. Never see them around anymore.

Right - with petrol prices on the rise and the local Optimax being far too far away (costs me nearly a tenner just to get there and back), Ive put std unleaded in from my local tesco. Now I remember lots of debates about optimax being the best (and I know a blown engine is not worth it), but Im running 14psi boost, chipped up etc, and I cant hear any detonation on unleaded? I know what det sounds like coz I had it when I accidentally knocked my boost controller up to 18 psi :) If Im not driving it too hard most of the time - Im presuming normal unleaded is ok? Is anyone else whos boosted up out there runnning normal unleaded? or super even?

Hi guys, looking for some guidance please. I had a 3 door Sierra Cosworth for 8 years and sold it 2 years ago. Miss having a toy and was contemplating a 300zx. However, they seem like a lot of work to keep on the road. Is there a decent garage in the Glasgow / West coast of Scotland area that caters for servicing/repairs of these cars? Or is most of the day to day work within the means of a reasonably competent do it yourself guy. I know they look, sound and drive great, but don't want to be stuck with a car I can't get fixed. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do you ever throw out all your porn - and maybe a few days later wish you hadn't? Maybe you threw it out because you've just had a heavy session with it and afterwards you feel disgusted with yourself. Or perhaps you're afraid your other half will find it and be shocked by its sinister nature? I've thrown some top grot out in my time! :smash: Also, do you throw it away in a layby - lots of people seem to? Or just wrap it up in lots of bags and tape and put it in the wheelie bin - that's my method of choice! Too complex for a poll.... so... discuss... :duffer: :duffer:

I wasn't even gunning it either, can only assume there was some oil or something on the road... I was accelerating away as normal.. not even near the edge and the back completely stepped out... ended up on the other side of the dual carraigeway and back again up the kerb and have fooked both my left side alloys and tyres... bugger... Does anyone know of any good alloy wheel refurbishment companies local to me? Around the braintree/colchester/chelmsford area... I'm really gutted as I haven't had these long, and my missus is severely pissed off with me right now...

My wife and I were very privileged to have been invited to a Sikh wedding this past Sunday. I used to work with the bride and knew that she was marrying into a wealthy family but I didn't quite realise how wealthy the are. Picture this for the wedding car line up: 1x Rolls Royce Phantom (£300k - Father of the Groom's car and official wedding car) 1x Bentley GT (£165 customised - Groom's own car) 1x Porsche Carrera GT (£340k - Uncle's car) 2x Lambo Murciellago (£180k each - brother's car) 1x Merc SL65AMG (£170k customised - best man's car) I had tears in my eyes and wobbly knees as they drove into the temple complex and could have kicked my wife for…

I've pasted the story below, apologies if it's old news. NISSAN BUILDS BONKERS 315BHP MICRA 350Z donates tweaked 3.5-litre V6 Auto Express reports this week that Nissan has shoehorned a tweaked version of the 3.5-litre V6 from the 350Z coupé -- into a Micra. The car's to be called the Micra 350SR, and also features a special body kit. In a move reminiscent of Renault's Clio V6, Nissan has thrown away the rear seats to make way for a mid-mounted version of the 310bhp engine, which has been mated to a close-ratio, six-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels. Nissan reckoned the car will make 60mph in under five seconds, with a 150mph top speed. …
