No, Nothing like that - maybe it's just me being paranoid after I replaced the head gasket and was convinced something must be wrong!! Nothing ever goes smoothly and I can't recall it doing this before.

hi folks. checked a mates 300zx today and after removing his oil cap his engine does not drop to a stall.so i think something is not right with my engine.any help would be great. trev.

hi folks Dont know if anyone can shed light on this problem.If i remove the oil cap when the engine is running the engine wants to stall.The car ticks over normally with the cap in place.I have cleaned and checked the pcv valves and all seems good.any help would be great. Cheers trev.

thanks everyone for your help and advice.rebuild now complete.car is now uo and running.dont think i would rebuild another one of these engines again though. nearly bit off more than i could chew.but with help off this club and lots of videos it was possible. thanks again trev

Hi All I am looking for an injector rail for my 1990 300ZX NA. Managed to break the plastic tip off one of the injectors when stripping down and this is the only thing stopping me from rebuilding my engine. If anyone knows of where I can get hold of one, I would really appreciate it. Not sure if it is a 270cc or a 370cc rail, it's a standard 1990 import. cheers in advance best wishes Trev

hi jimmer. thanks for the offer but i think ill probably go down the rebuild route.if there is any major damage to my engine i will have to think about putting another engine in, hopefully not but i'll have to wait and see. thanks again trev

its a na jeff.last time it bent valves and you had to fit two heads.at least hopefully it will only need a rebuild this time. not a bad idea fitting a warning light on the water temp.could save a lot engines.

hi jeff. think the head gasket has failed due to overheating.i was exiting the motorway when i heard a gurgling behind the dash.had this before and i was loosing water at the heater matrix.saved it that time.not so lucky this time.i pulled over and seen white exhaust smoke.only then did the temp gauge go up. you did a water bypass for me when you replaced the heads in 2014.so ill have to check all other possible places for leaks before a rebuild.the radiator water smells of exhaust fumes so think that is what has happened. many thanks again for your advice. trev

thanks for the advice jeff.wishing you where still here to fix it again. had all this done in 2014.finding a good mechcanic seems to be an ongoing problem these days.i can skim the heads in work but may need to get leak tested somewhere else.think i'm going to need some good luck.

After some advice here please? Towed home last night by AA - looks like head gasket has gone. Does anyone know anyone near Liverpool who can do this job and any ideas how much it will cost me? Or, might have a go at doing it myself - best place for getting gasket set from please? thanks all Trev

Hi i'm after an aac valve.solenoid has gone bad on mine.had all kinds of tick over problems for a while now. put 12 volts to the solenoid and nothing happens,although the resistance looks good at 10ohm.so i think i need to replace the assembly. thanks. trev.
