Well if it comes and goes i would imagine its a loose connection somewhere,finding it is your next task!.so have you have pretty much eliminated a coilpack fault by swopping them over then? I HATE PTUs!

I wonder if its anything to do with the Great British weather finally coming to an end.Those of us with our Zeds as daily drivers have had a winter of salt on roads etc.Any those lucky guys who have weekend Zeds are probably getting probs wih cars being stood up for a few months.

Erm try some WD40 and clean any corrosion or dirt off.

i discovered i could get a recon engine for what i paid for the rebuild though it would be taking a risk-after all you dont know the history of the replacement unit. Depends on how much you can spend and if you really feel like continuing.When mine went wrong i as tempted to take a hammer and match to it.

Intermitent missfire pionts towards the PTU.Try a cleanup on each connector.I had the same thing on mine and discovered one of mine had managed to come completely undone causing the missfire.

I wasnt aware that you have a good mech on hand to tell you. I would still keep it though.So is it rebuild job then?

Thing is 99% of blokes have an obbsession about something (bikes,fishing,cars etc).Unfortunately we have chosen one of the most expensive 'hobbies' as i call it and some of us have interests in more than 1 'hobby' Explain that the car aint going to go as its your only link to your youth when you finally commit to her!
