Update on Colin (Dick300)
Hi Everyone, Leslie here, Colin's wife. Just to let you know he had a pacemaker fitted today and the surgeons are very pleased with the way things went. Won't know for a bit if it's working yet, but Colin himself says he feels stronger and can move his legs a bit, which he couldn't do before. He might even get home for a bit at Christmas. Thanks to everyone for the kind comments which I have passed on to Colin and thanks to Robert for the visit. Colin really appreciated it - someone other than me to look at!! Merry Christmas to everyone.

Robert, Colin back in hospital. Been in about 3 weeks. Got a chest drain in, had operation for blood clots, kidney's not working again. Not very good at the moment. Will keep you posted. If you want to phone for a better update I'm usually home by 9pm.

Hospital
Had to go back in (long story!) but got out again last night - hopefully for the last time other than as an outpatient. Still not up to much more than walking a few yards but it's getting better every day. Thanks to all the messages. Colin PS - Robert, if that was phoning you should get me now.

Hospital
He's doing really well. Kidneys now working fine. Heart getting a bit stronger. Still a long way to go. He won't be working on or driving his car for quite a while yet. He can walk short distances with a stick but longer distances he needs a wheelchair. Hopeful that he will get stronger and eventually not need the wheelchair but even if he doesn't the fact he's still alive is enough. He might get home next week, so no doubt he'll be in touch. Thanks to everyone for their messages, I've been passing them on. Leslie

Hi Ed Colin says that's great. He'd rather have been at Crail than where he is, but he's getting better every day.

Hospital
Hi this is Leslie Colin Dick's wife (Dick300). He wanted me to let you know he's in hospital at moment. It was touch and go for a while, we were told he wouldn't make it through the night 3 times. that was 4 weeks ago. He seems to have had a virus that attacked his heart and basically doctors throught there was no hope. He's still here and doing well - probably the thought of me driving his car was enough to make him get better!! Doctors are amazed at his progress.

Hi Ossian, Leslie here Colin Dick's (dick300) wife. You've probably noticed he's not been on the forum recently. To bring you up to date, he was transferred from Stirling Royal Infirmary 4 weeks ago to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. At that time we were told he wouldn't make it through the night. He's still here and it seems that he had a virus which attacked his heart and basically the doctors thought there was no chance of a recovery. He's recovering slowly - probably because he doesn't want me driving his car!! Anyway he wanted me to let you know what was happening. Our PC at home is in bits, so I'm using my works PC to send this.

June meeting
Robert - may have just been the low sun, but I thought I only saw your drivers side light when you flashed. Cheers, Colin

June meeting
It won't let me vote - but I don't mind which! Colin (3 wheels on my waggon now!)

June meeting
Obviously Falkirk's handy for me as well - but with the light nights I'd be just as happy to head down Shrek's way. Anywhere that suits really. Colin

Chatelherault Classic Car Rally.
I'm up for it - should have ma wheels polished by then! (you've got a lot to answer for Ossian - I've only done 1 so far an' I'm knackered!) Colin

Thunder in the Glens!!
A cutionary tale for anyone running a turbo timer. I fitted another switch yesterday and had a chance to have a good look at the turbo timer harness (supplied with the timer - fits between existing plug and the ignition switch). The insolation on the main power feed was almost completely fried - I reckon if the switch hadn't gone the the whole thing could have gone up at some point. The wiring is nowhere close to being up to the job - the original wiring looks to be capable of 50 amps (the fuse is 30 amp) but the wire used in the harness looks to be 10 - 20 amp. So, if you're running a timer I'd suggest you check the harness and consider soldering the timer directly to the existing wiring. Other than that - excelent day out! Colin PS - I watched the Bourne Ultimatum again last night - he hotwired an Audi in under 2 seconds. Does that mean a 300 is CIA proof?

May meeting / road trip
First rule of 300zx test drives - always take a mobile! Second rule, have a mate with a low loader on speed dial.

May meeting / road trip
I'm still planning on going too. Colin

May meeting / road trip
Your right they do look a bit pricey - I thought there might be a pub but keep coming up with the same 2 places! The only reason for mentioning Port Appin was that from the map it looked like it might be a good place to stop - but anywhere will do me. Colin

May meeting / road trip
Any of those would do but the ones near the end of Glencoe might be a bit busy. What about somewhere between Ballachulish and Connel bridge? It looks like there's a few in Port Appin. http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/appin/portappin/ nb - is just coincidence that we have to pass Ossian's Cave? http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=215260&y=756185&z=3&sv=215260,756185&st=OSGrid&lu=N&tl=~&ar=y&bi=~&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf

Fao Dick300
Hi Ed - glad to hear you're up and running again. I won't be going up this weekend, the Banazi weekend will probably be my last for a while. They upped the price to £10 a head and the facilities are even worse than last year (2 burger vans & a couple of trade stalls) . I wouldn't mind if they at least had a few of the top cars running but there were only a couple of cars capable of 12s and very few 13s! You'll walk it! Cheers, Colin

April meeting
I've decided to go regardless - I'll see you all there (that's the 1000's & 1000's that are going!) Colin

April meeting
Not much point in going on my own, but I'll wait till Saturday to finally decide. If there's no-one else going I'll watch the BTCC instead. Chreers, Colin

April meeting
We usually aim to arrive around 11:00 - but we go over by Kincardine then up to Kinross, Cupar, then cut accross (actually we skip cupar but it's a bit convoluted!). It's seems longer but the roads are quieter - the coast road is in and out of 30s all the way. Anyway, it's just as easy for me ro get to Hallbeath so I'll go with whatever's easier for the majority. Cheers, Colin
