  6. just looked at liverpool victoria, looks cr*p! "we cant insure jap imports" well thats half of us b*ggered! "we cant insure modified vehicles" and there goes the other half! i cant really imagine theres many of us with bog standard uk zeds?
  7. well i think i might have found my insurance, im 21, been driving a year, havnt got any no claims, put my mum as a 2nd driver. on a j spec TT, 7000miles a year, 3rd party only for £1500, now im sure to most people thats horrific but not bad for my age and having no claims, gonna check a few more places first though.
  8. very very important thing to consider about tvrs, is what put my old man off buying one. the only place thatll work on them is a tvr garage, tvr dont sell parts to anyone at all. so even if u need something small doing, you wont find the parts anywhere but a main tvr dealer. i mean if moneys no issue than i doubt thats a problem. but they aint cheap to fix!
  9. right ive been thinking, its always a question people ask "where the nearest place in *** that i can get my zed fixed. anyone thought of maybe making some kind of map, like a picture of the uk with locations of all the zed specialists/recommended places to help? just thinking itd be a good thing to have in the glovebox to point out to which ever break down company is towing u this week! just an idea, as most people wouldnt have access to an internet at roadside and who wants to be taken home then have to pay loads to be trailored somewhere else later on. could maybe be something to actually put in a "members pack" any thoughts? or am shall i just get back to bed!?
  10. try and have a look when u boot it and it reaches full boost if u can, have a look what it reads, in fact if u have a boost gauge then see what the reading is, i cant remember what stock boost is, is it 0.8bar? (sure most people on here will know) but all i know is you dont wanna be running more than 1.0bar or 15psi (14 point something if your being .anal!) anyway dont be too worried, if its been set up well then awesome, u got yourself some xtra power! has it got any other mods?
  11. i really wouldnt fiddle with it though mate!! get someone who is familair with it. as if u just turn up the boost it could instantly blow your turbos, and if thats 1.4 in bar then thatd completly feck them if it ran that high. do the leds flash and display what level when u drive? if they do have a look, anything up to 1.0bar is about the limit of standard tubs, i think. im no expert but thats my opinion
  12. well im not in the RAF, im in the paras but from what ive learnt the RAF takes a lot better care of you than the army! the foods 100 times better, so is the general living standards. as for being posted all round the country, youd get some sort of preference as to where u wanna go, and u soon get used to it. and in a zed, you aint never gonna be that far from anywhere time and speed wise!
  13. sorry but whoever started that idea is talking b*llocks im no mechanic but an engine wont "seize" due to running normal unleaded. lower octane fuel may cause det or pinking which in turn may damage the engine, but that wouldnt seize it, starvation of oil is what seizes and engine. always better to run higher octane fuel, i maen it may be 5p more expensive but whats that 50p per ten quid! not exactly crippling money!

    i once span out my s13 in a cloud of tire smoke after about 3 perfect laps of drifting a huge round about came 2 a stop missing a ditch by inches! but that was just me pushing it 2 far. the back used to always catch me out but other than that time i always got it back under control, just takes practice!
  16. start again dude! break it, then spend a bit more time looking for a good un, as if u replace the engine, whats gonna go next? gearbox? clutch suspension? if one part of the car hasnt been looked after you can bet the rest of it hasnt got much better attention. with enough hunting, u could find a nice manual tt probably with sensible mods and a recent rebuild for about 4 and a half, depends how much your willing to spend and each to his own but thats a nasty colour!!

SCAM SCAM SCAM! they drive me fecking crazy! i dealt with a similiar thing, was bidding on a 450bhp engine for my s13, bloke said hed sell it for 1000 which sent alarm bells ringing, the stupid coont had no idea about engines, couldnt even spell english properly and suprise wanted paying western union! and people who are genuine dont need to write things like its not stolen! should go without saying! and things like what happens if there not satisfied, obviously just trying to cover his own arse, feckin shop him, dob him in! scumbags!

  23. cheers for all your help guys, that zenith sounds an idea, i can probably cope with paying up to 2 grand. so any cheaper than that will be awesome. rufio how much r the flux charging u? interested, as i remember trying to insure my s13 with them a while back and they qouted something daft!
  24. right heres the sketch, im only 21 young yes i know, only had a full license over year, did have a 200sx insured but cancelled the insurance as it broke so aint got any no claims. and i need to get insurance on a jap spec TT. yep thats gonna be hard i hear u say! need to work out some ideas though if i had another cheaper car that i was fully comp on i.e a 1 litre uno or something equally hideous would i not be 3rd party to drive any other car? i.e the zed? or whats the sketch with being a 2nd driver on my old mans insurance? anyone got any suggestions? please explain them if u have! i know yes its gonna cost big time, i earn a hell of a lot for my age, so that aint a problem but obviously i want it cheap as possible, and just 3rd party as fully comp would kill me. on the plus side its gonna be garaged in a very low crime area and aint looking at doing too many miles. cheers guys j
