luke has been my godsend on what to bin now the engine is out,its funny being into zeds nearly 20 years how many parts of the zed have been found to be useless!! i wouldnt of had a clue if it wasnt for luke.cheers zcentre. jay

only time i ever seen a zed beaten,sat on a motorway at 2am neck and neck at 170,thats until the tvr cerbera dropped a gear and left the zed for dust within a couple of miles hehe

ive 2 soon aswell,just as soon as i get my car back,im about to get me new tubs installed and engine back in,just thinking over getting some upgrade greddys aswell which has put a hold on me getting the turbos i already bought put in:tongue_smilie:

try being the mechanic who lost a philips head screw driver bit in my engine,it ended up lodged in my turbo,which is why my zed has been off road 8 years...when i see him he will be loosing a few teeth in the next engine he works on grrrr

it was always JUST the small things for me back then,ptu, overheating etc etc....it was sooooooo frustrating and i no exactly how you feel. good luck it seems you could do with some for the summer so you can enjoy your car. this time round for me ive gone with get the electrics sorted......300zx electrics-heat -age...bad combination on the 300.mechanical the 300 should be bullet proof lol,im sat with my fingers ,toes and legs crossed now ha!

i was in a similar position 8 years ago...id had 4 engine/rebuilds the lot,even resprayed twice.i must of spent well over 20k,then my missus got pregnant and all that money had to go elsewhere. for me the nissan 300zx tt wasnt and couldnt be a daily driver even tho i would of loved it to be,i was forever thinking shit i dare not take this anywhere,there was always something not right, or it would OVERHEAT lol or something. saying all that i could never sell my car coz on the last rebuild i bought a brand new block off nissan which cost me 8-10k,id only drove it 1.5k when i noticed my turbo had disintegrated and i had a hard pipe full of silver dust.-the rest is history...its only now im wanting it back but only as a bank holiday/odd day out car. i run around in a fiat stilo abarth 2.4...a great car loads of toys,loads of nippy power and a grand for a 10 year old car,im on my 2nd abarth and keeping my eyes out for a newer model. the reliability in the 300zx is pretty poor if you need it as a main car imo,and i would of said that 10 years ago never mind nearly 20yrs saying all this tho there is no car i have ever driven which puts a smile on my face like a zed---EVERYTIME--(which is why i will never sell mine)but i would never trust it as a main car!!!

all i was stating was the 300zx lights were shite , simply saying was there a light setup that someone had put on a 300zx?which was brighter and better than stock...not a hard question? in 18-19 years of owning a zed i've never actually seen the hid kit or what it looks like in somebody elses car.looked at it online plenty of times tho , but not recently!years ago i looked into it, but back then it looked a pain in the butt to fit being a non tekky.from what replies ive had seems more plug and play now. so question part answered and what i will now be doing... and the audi r8 lights ...not many chavs up north that could afford 1 lol *********

the main reason im asking is ive had my zed since 94 and its been off the road the last 7 - 8 years,now the kids have paper rounds ive got time and money to bring it back.its getting the engine sorted,new tubs,new electrics,full new cream leather interior and a respray. but my biggest hate was the headlights and rear lights...........

how hard was it to install?

for anyone with the hid kit.was it worth it?
